Sam Edmund was saying there was no way we would do a straight two firsts for Petracca. We would probably want a future second coming with him.
This report is reassuring. I’m happy to pursue Petracca, but we shouldn’t be viewing him as the missing piece and moving heaven and earth to get him.

If we are taking his full contract, 14 & F1 for Petracca and F2 is fair IMO.

Saw a Dees supporter on Twitter say that he can’t go back to them now, given he’s publicly flirting with a move for a second year in a row

I agree that it’s pretty hard to come back from this, he’s clearly wanting to check himself out

He's definitely out. Just a matter of where.

Tom Morris has said from the outset that there's a mutual agreement between him and Melbourne that a fresh start is needed. If that's true, then I can't imagine this meeting is surprising to them.

No big name recruit close to 30 has ever worked out for us in the modern era, putting aside Jarman and possibly Pods, although he may not be a "big name" recruit.

Therefore, my concerns are more about how Petracca will actually go, should we get him, given the way he plays is based on power and burst speed. These would definitely be the first things to go as you get older.

We would also be relying on him heavily, so there no veteran resting here.

He's not like a Pendlebury whos game is more about timing and footballing smarts and vision.
It's completely about power and speed.

I think if we got him, we should trade with the expectation that he won't be the same player, well atleast not for long.

Melbourne may not need to move him on to free uo money, but he is 30 and they are entering a new phase. That might be enough to get them to accept two late firsts.

I tend to agree which is why we should be smar... oh carry on

Nicks convinced Daws and Rankine, get a grip, people
💯- some people on here honestly live in a footy world that’s not actually reality - as George Constanza says - it’s not a lie, if you believe it’s true 😂

Peatling is another that says meeting with Nicks was the sealer to his decision - we were in a bunch of clubs chasing him
