It is my personal opinion that the HFC would be best signing spida on a two year deal, this way we are assured of keeping the big fella (hopefully) for a bit longer, surely he has at least two good years of football left in him?? I don't think it is a risk at all.

Hypothetically, I couldn't stand seeing Spida in a swans jumper!!!!

I don't think 2 years would be that smart. If you think about it, this would mean that he still would have 2.75 years left on his contract and at the age of 33 this is not very smart. We have been burnt by long term contracts for older players before (Holland).

If he leaves it's not the end of the world. Hopefully we would get duly compensated.

Crawford didn't receive a two year contract why should Everitt. He's a great player but surely he must stay with the club. Otherwise he's a disgrace. We won't get a suitable trade for him anyways and he'd go to a team who are even lower on the ladder like Carlton. He'd much prefer to remain at the Hawks then the Blues, Bombers, Power, Lions.

Yes i can see both points of view here although i was just thinking how good it would be to have him there when we become a stronger contender for the finals.... thinking out loud.

give him a 2 year deal with a cluas that he must play minimum amout of games per season or the contract gets reduced. Or start him on a low base payment and larger match payments when he plays. Either way spider and the club should reach an agreement for the good of both parties.

for the club to be more dominant in the long run, we need to sign spida on a 2 yr deal, that way he will be at the club til probably the end of his career and will be there to coach big max, who looks like becoming a monster of a player, much like the big man paul salmon.

Can you imagine in a few years when spida is retired having a 3 rucks in oen team which is possible lining up as...

FF: Bailey

Ruck: Taylor

CHB: Campbell

one awesome line up, and could all rotate evenly. Bailey into the ruck, taylor to FF for a short stint, and i think bailey has it in him to play defence, so he could rotate with robbie at CHB. If spida is here to coach them, it will definately help us out.
