I don't mind Pinstripe Lane at huge each way odds in the David Jones. He is having a similar prep to last time where he exploded 3rd up at big odds. If it was being run at Flemington I would like him more, just not sure how he could run them down at Caulfield. I don't have him in my top 4 but at the odds is good value I think

Sounds very similar to how i bet. Odds shouldn't scare you off anything if you think you're getting overs. Go with it.

If he shows the same degree of improvement as he did third up last prep I agree he is right in it. However, that was off a lower base and once you get to the better levels I think its extremely hard to make another jump in ability of an equal degree.

E.g. if you jump from a 30 to a 40 rating 3rd up in one prep, its extremely unlikely you will then jump from 42 to 52 3rd up next prep.

Yeah on the same page I think - Contributer and Slow Pace my top two.

You reckon he can turn the tables on Vilanova? I thought Vilanova was much more impressive in their last run and gets a kilo pull in the weights from it

Can't argue against that logic - it's more of a gut feel.

To be honest Contributer is the only one in the race I am really interested in, and that has been lessened by the price being slashed now that Brambles is not running.

I have Kingdoms/Disclaimer on a similar level.

Disclaimer beat Contributer pretty easily but only a H2H race? Kingdoms better at the mile and quarter aswell, last 2 runs impressive.

JB destroyed Masked marvel at flemington over the 2000

Honrius wasnt fat ahead of MM in the epsom last year.

The way i see it, JB is always one place behind Junoob whos going on to be a very good horse and always one place ahead of Honourable Aussie.

*This is just how i think about races and whos better, certainly not thinking its right.

Such a difficult race to pick as not many have run against each other. Its almost a no bet race, or get on something at odds and see if it has enough.

Im certainly not going to be jumping to get on SO or Contributer at 4/5s to win this.

The more i watch the Metrop there were some sensational runs that couldve been so much more.

Disclaimer - Massive run came from 2nd last, weaved its way through and keep giving towards the line.
La Amistad - Not a great run but got pulled up massivily 4-500 out and then just eased up down the straight, hard to get on at 4's for Tatts
Bringatin - Along with Disclaimer, Araldo and Kingdoms i got on think i picked 3rd,4th,5th,6th. Looked a chance down the inside just didnt get the opening then weaved back through and came hard to the line.
Kingdoms - Had bagman running all over as if it had another 55kg on its back. Ran well, finished well just couldnt get clear.

Agree dont think thats the case but obviousily wasnt good enough. Hard to go against A11 at the moment though ha.

I think Commanding Time is stacking up well for me this race.

JB might be some value at 26s or more come saturday.

If it runs in the metrop id be putting a very strong case forward it runs behind Junoob based on past battles between the 2. Would it be at 26s if it had done that, i dont think so. Maybe its not going aswell this prep? Which it probably isnt and thats seen in the odds. Did alright down at Flemington. Where would Who Shot thebarman sit in this race? I know not many are its fan and like to take it on. Isnt upto a CC im aware of that.

If the above is true then you would have to have Commanding Time on top because it murded JB in the Benella Cup last start?

Paris is right, MM is not even close to the same horse this prep, wouldn't win a race over the fences at Hamilton on current form.

Im taking on Contributor and Signoff, think SO is way overs at 4, cant see how i can touch that same with Contributer. Also think Villanova probably has it over Slow pace based on last run.

Im yet to look at Noble Protector.

I like Commanding Time. Villanova.

Think JB offers some value.

Also trying to find the trial of that Azkadella in the first, Suppose ran well at Cranbourne early in the week from the C.Maher stable.

Not a race I'm terribly keen to play in, may have a little go on Driefontein, can see him getting across from that wide barrier relatively easily and sitting outside Im All The Talk

That's a pretty good bet about Bel Sprinter though, he trialed well
