I think this Tynan thing might have been blown a little bit out of proportion. Yes, it's disappointing that the club didn't put his name down on the '46' locker but I'm sure this came down to an administrative oversight rather than anything malicious. This is reflected in the fact that Tynan's name is on the '23' locker (though it would have made more sense for his name to be on the '46' locker if it was to be only one given he played two games in that number and zero in the '23'). I'm not going to participate in the discussion though as to whether this came down to Tynan's contribution to the club and whether players should be earning it or not, because I think that's rather irrelevant.

I think saying that this demonstrates any cultural issues at the club is jumping the gun a little bit. Hopefully they fix it up as it does come across as a bit disrespectful, but I think for Tynan to take this to heart would be a bit petty on his part, and supporters taking this too seriously should probably get their priorities straight in terms of what they really value in the club.

Yeh I was wondering whether his name was on the #23 locker

Just came in to post the same thing as above. But then I noticed that Blease is still listed as a 46er. So then, does each player get a name on each locker/jumper number they've been assigned through their career? The presence of Blease would suggest so, but then it seems illogical to put down players on every locker if they only play one season in a number...

They do. The club obviously forgot or disregarded Tynan hence his reaction
I asked the club as well, Terlich responded saying Tynan has his number on 23 and the club favourited his tweet.
I then asked about players having both like Blease and they completely ignored me

It is such a non-issue. The bloke played 2 games for the club and somehow gets his name on a locker before being delisted. Who cares if it's the 'wrong' number? He should feel privileged to be recognised at all for his brief and uneventful time at the club.

Exactly this. Thank you for saying it so frankly yet fairly haha.

I did think twice about it... Given how shit we have been for the last few years/decades it's probably a bit rich to be calling it a 'privilege' to get a name on a locker. But still, someone pass him a can of harden up.

Final numbers released

Salem - 3 (no surprises)
Kennedy-Harris - 24
Hunt - 29
Georgiou - 41
Harmes - 43
King - 47
Westrupp - 50

Interesting that Tyson didn't get his old number from GWS and junior days in #29, which went to Hunt instead. Tyson got the Sylvia-vacated #12 instead. Hopefully he brings more to the jumper than his predecessor did.

Are they preserving no. 24 for Jurrah's return or something??? I've been waiting 2 years now for someone to be allocated 24.. Hate having numbers on the back with no players.
Looks like JKH is your new favourite player. :thumbsu:

I've got a seriously good feeling about this kid. I've never seen him in person, but his pre-draft press stuff, his interviews, and what little of his on-ground abilities I've seen... I think he could be the favourite of a large mass of Dees supporters in due course.

Not sure why he needs to harden up? I know Josh, and let me tell you, he's not the type of guy to disrespect the club in anyway. He was literally telling his mate what he thought, no more, no less to the situation. As supporters we love to read into things and back in the club, but the fact of the matter is the club was a disgrace off the field, and that included to its players, especially those exiting the club. No coincidence Jackson and Roos have given the arse to most of the old brigade. If you want to know more just shoot us a message and I'll be sure to let you in on what I know and feel is appropriate to discuss.

Don't think Captain Jack was telling Josh himself to harden up so much as the entire band of people condemning the club for it as though they'd personally set out to offend him.

Bad times for fans of novelty numbers with the only 50+ player on the list ineligible.

But god bless Terlich and Fitzpatrick for sticking with nutty high 40 numbers.

They stand out in the high numbers, especially when thy are doing good things. I reckon it has to do with them wanting to forge their own careers, and make their numbers notable. Like you, I reckon it's ace!
