Garlick mentioned a while back that Freo dont even have kids young enough to join the team yet... when at the same time you guys got Ashcroft x 2 and Fletcher because their kids are actually at the normal age....
yes they do freo came into the completion in 1995.....30 years ago, previously they had access to 4 clubs from the wafl they could also use as father son

Which means the players would be 48 as opposed to the 53 years of age Marcus Ashcroft and 55 Adrian Fletcher is... In other words Brisbanes got a bigger list because the list is older then 30 years.

Maths is easy

you do realise not everyone has kids at the same age.......
In the past 5 years we have had Zaine Cordy/Tom Liberatore/Sam Darcy/Rhylee West on our list added in their fathers age and their age fairly broad range for age of Father when son is born

Zaine's dad is 64 (28) Tom's is 59 (33) Rhylee's is 50 (25) and Sam's is 50 (22)

Looks to me as if it can take as little as 25 years in Rhylee's case (has a 17 year old brother) or 36 years in Zaines case who also has an older brother who was crap

You are the one claiming they do? Because Freo have players who are now 45 years old they must all have the same amount of kids as those older then them by now? People have kids later in life, well into late 30s... This is why Pies and Brisbane have more access. Fletcher had Jaspa at 34. If Freos player did that his son is 11 which is a bit too soon for football

you do realise Adrian fletcher played for Fremantle........if he had of played 21 games more for freo he would of been eligible to go to freo

freo have players older than both fletcher and Ashcroft that just haven't produced any father sons and have plenty younger that just haven't produced any either

You do get that Fletcher didnt join the club at 18 which is the reason Freo dont have the same accesses Brisbane have

Take the L and move on

Conversation getting a bit repeptive and off topic when we are talking about Des Headlands children. In the end Simon Garlick has come out against both academy and father/son picks. Its not a St Kilda only concern at all

last night Chris Scott said he wouldn't have father son! nearly fell off the couch, point in case he didnt say a word when he had Hawkins, GAJ, Scarlett, Bews and Simpson now they dont have any get rid of it! actually laughable

yeah its a concern for those that dont have any, not that its not justified

I do think it’s a bit too late though. The horse has bolted in reality. Changing the rules now to then run into Tasmania’s lost build feels a bit pointless . The changes to make are to boost St Kilda draft hand and not remove Brisbanes . I don’t think it’s fair to tell Annable he can’t join Brisbane all of a sudden. The promise is made and completed

I think St Kilda should get draft pick assistance this off season to make up for it as opposed to punish Annable. Ones the time to throw a bunch of picks you must trade access to St Kilda and WCE. Both clubs can use them and get a benefit

I was talking in regards to the father son, this is half the issue just lumping in academies with father son in a discussion is just ridiculous and makes 0 sense, and yes of course we benefit from academies just as we are disadvantaged by having a minimal percentage of of the draft pool coming out of queensland which before the academies was basically 0

Which is also a double edge sword for having minimal talent come out of a state, retention issues and then also no one coming back to queensland because there's barely any getting drafted in the first place

everyone has the same rules for father son so why complain about it
One of the arguments for academy’s with the expansion clubs was that they didn’t get to benefit from father son picks like the southern clubs do that’s definitely not the case for Brisbane, who get the best of both. Would you be happy for Brisbane to keep full academy rights but loose future father sons

no one has ever said that, literally just making stuff up

Oh no! Curnow wants to go to the GC! This must be part of the retention issues we’ve all heard about.

You don't think that GCS have historically had significant retention issues?
