This thread has a shelf life expectancy of 4 hours.

IF the Saints are rolled tonight do you think they are done for the year?
I hope they get their backs up tonight and show the resilience they have shown for a number of years.

But I don't expect it.

And what will it mean? Cut the players that have created the apparent disharmony? Or cut the coach?

To provide some more info, here is their draw after tonight. (6 weeks worth)

Carlton at Etihad
Hawthorn at MCG
Melbourne at Etihad
Freo at Patterson
Collingwood at MCG
Bulldogs at Etihad

*Saints supporters please note this is not a 'let's smack the saints thread'
I honestly wished/wish that they can win a flag for you in this period (but not against my mob). You deserve a flag and the chance to enjoy the happiness it brings. Sincerely.

Like I said, a four hour thread ;)

I think we should win tonight.

However if we lose and dont show any improvement from last week i will be very worried about the rest of the season.

I think the wet weather here in Adelaide and a poor Crows side who don't really like a hard scrap are going to play in St Kilda's favour tonight. Even with Lenny Hayes on the sidelines, I'd expect Scott Thompson (contested ball winner who has been carrying the side this year) to be the only Crow midfielder to fire a shot tonight in these conditions.

Not about to pronounce the Saints as "done" just yet, but they've got their backs firmly against the wall, and a road win tonight against lacklustre could really just be paper over the cracks. Still, a win's a win, and you'd take the four points under any circumstances at this stage if you were St Kilda. Can I fit any more cliches in here? :p

"Done" - check
"Backs against the wall" - check
"Paper over cracks" - check

Cliche's are cool :D

The thread is fair in my opinion.

I think we should win tonight. But it's all about how we play. I wont blame anyone who says we are done if our efforts don't work.

But right now I feel that we are still a genuine premiership contender, dispite the slow start. It's all just a matter of our overall confidence, not ability.

Hypothetically, if we beat the Cats in round one and the Tigers in round two, then get beaten by the Bombers, we would be going into the bye with normal confidence, but losing to the Cats, the draw, and then the loss, followed by a grinder against the Lions has us looking at a bit of a negative outlook.

Can quite honestly see them losing all games for the next 7 weeks, including tonight.

Don't think you can write them off after 4-5 games, but they definitely have problems, mostly as a result of terrible list management. If they don't turn it around for the remainder of the season, they'd be well advised to trade for early draft picks. I don't expect much agreement on this - but I'd start with Brendan Goddard - arrange a trade to GWS for suitable early draft picks and commence rebuilding. Who else would they get reasonable value for? You'd never trade Reiwoldt and plenty of respect for Hayes and - believe it or not - Milne, but they're both 31. Some lean years ahead for the Saints.

That's nice.

Well they are probably favs for the Melbourne match, but apart from that I can't see them winning a game unless they play above themselves.

Carlton at Etihad coming off travel to Adelaide against a form team.
Hawthorn at MCG. Outdoor game, say no more.
Melbourne at Etihad - the only real game to start favs in.
Freo at Patterson - no hope after the previous month.
Collingwood at MCG. Outdoor game against the flag holders. Will get thrashed.
Bulldogs at Etihad. Coming off a thrashing and with no confidence. Goners.

I agree that our list management hasn't been without its problems, but trading BJ?? We might as well shoot ourselves in the foot.

Do you have an inside track at the TAB? According to you the Saints lose every time they play outside.

So how is their recent record at the MCG?

Might want to place some bets on them not winning games against ranked teams there if you want to win some $$.
