Would you do it? Who wins out of it?

We swap Shaw for GWS's pick 9. We then package up 9/10/11 (Thomas compo) for Riewoldt, Montagna and Dal Santo.

Jams open our premiership window for 2 years and gives the Saints their chance to rebuild.

Not a strong draft, if there was ever time to do something bold, it's this one.

YES - I know it won't happen, but list management is about strapping em on and thinking outside the box...

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail hanging down
A wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk
Makes the world go round
There ain't nothing in the world like a big eyed girl
That makes me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby that's what I like

the big bopper is not an afl recruiter thankfully.

No I wouldn't do it, firstly I would be very surprised if Shaw was worth Pick 9

Also do we really need to top up our midfield with Montagna & Dal Santo? Sure in there prime they were superstars of the game but we have

If we had pick 9/10/11 I would happily spend 1 on Riewoldt (still think paying overs), but apart from that we would be giving up potential 10 year players.

The answer is no.

Bringing in 3 players like that when we have just cut Didak, Krackouer and Jolly just won't happen especially not at the price of 3 top 11 picks. We're going in a different direction.

interesting, i think we would be paying overs. I could argue that neither of them are worth a first round pick alone tbh.

Honestly i would take all 3 given the right price, but for 3 first round picks, it isn't worth it.

I'd look at Montagna for sure. Had a great year.

would be a handy replacement for Thomas. I also think he is getable... Riewoldt would never leave and come to Collingwood, and Dalsanto has massive question marks on him after such a poor year. Montagna is all class, would highly contemplate trading him in.

I'd be strongly against it. All 3 are on the downward slope and closer to retiring, while top 10 picks usually turn into pretty decent players, especially when Hine is using them.

All 3 have 2-3 years left MAX, 1 of them will be 31 next year and the other 30 with Reiwoldt turning 32.

And you all want to trade away 3 potential 10 year plus guns for 2 years service and Reiwoldts knee is F@CKED he has said in numerous interviews its 1 game at a time such is the pain in his knee.

He could break down next year quite easily.

N.Reiwoldt Born October 17, 1982 turns 31 in 9 days and turns 32 not long after the 2014 season.
L.Montagna Born: November 2, 1983 Turns 30 soon and will be 31 end of next year.
N.Dalsanto Born: February 22, 1984 will be 30 by the start of season 2014.

I wouldn't give 1 of those picks for all 3. They are too old adn we just got rid of Didak! Reiwoldt is a gun but his knee is shot and he has a year or two at half rat power left in him. He would definately be handy if he filled the only hole in our list but we have otehr priorities in the immidiate term. Dal Santo is soft and can't handle a tag. I'd rather have Didak. Montagna is a goodish mid but we just don't need his skill set to win a flag.

We need pace and footskills. Unless we find 3 players that fit that mould we won't win a flag.

So why start a post????

Give up pick 9,10, and 11 yer right. Not even worth thinking about.

They just got pick 28 for Hampson, so maybe! ;)

If those 3 players were at MOST 28, I'd consider it.

But there's no way you'd give up picks 9, 10 and 11 in a draft that only bats about 15 deep for 3 30 plus year olds. Might as well have kept Didak and Johnson.

9, 10 and 11 means that you're all but guaranteed 2 superstar 10 year players.

No. They are good players but I would rather get youngsters. It would make no sense to delist the players we did only to get players of similar ages.
