good result off a danger game at marvel stadium.

We have some work to do as I thought our ground ball game wasn’t as sharp as it has been.

Bank the win and move on to next week.
We tappered off at the end of 2023, hopefully it dosnt happen again.

Or hopefully it does. We're going to have a buffer, using some of that to ensure we're ready for finals is a good thing, just as it was in 2023. Maybe we keep wining while dropping performance slightly, if we lose a couple though it won't necessarily hurt.

If we win our next 3 or 4 we are well placed to manage our way into finals.

I was out at a party and missed the game. Watching the Kayo mini now. Naicos needs to be paid more frees to stamp out the bullshit holding.

Looks like we went at 60% effort and won easily.

This is the one for me. The outcry is as if Sat night was the first time he's been tagged all year. He's copped the BS holding and blocking tactics in just about every game this season. In reality he's probably missed 50 plus free kicks over the course of the season. If a forward gets held, blocked etc they automatically get a free kick. It's about time Naicos and any other player that cops a hard tag is looked after by the umps. The old it's good theatre etc is rubbish in this day and age. You can defend an opponent without holding and scragging. Be good enough to beat them 1 v 1 or go and play another role.

I missed the last quarter and Lipinski’s impact late, but as one of his bigger fans on here I’m glad he got into a groove in the second half. That goal in particular was huge because it came just as St Kilda had opened us up and was less than half a chance. With his ball use he has the ability to make stuff like that happen which in a big game can be crucial. He just needs to find a way to scrounge an impact when he’s being well held.

I like the idea of Lippa going to the oppositon's most dangerous half back. He has the running capability and also the nous/forward craft do damage on the scoreboard. As mentioned, his elite kicking could be the difference in a big final.

Nick’s perfect tackle and a free kick to Windhager.

Imagine knowing you are lining up on a kid destined to be one of the greatest players the game has seen, and having to basically do whatever you can get away with illegally because you’re not in the same stratosphere.

Still hearing Lyon say Langdon beat Daicos is ridiculous. Langdon with 4 touches, while Daicos had 19, 8 clearances and a goal. So which player had the greater impact on the game??

That fat campaigner, Adam White was still spitting out this rhetoric on SEN on Friday. Basically, saying that Mcrae has voiced the tagging issue because he's concerned about Naicos's poor form.

30 and 1 whilst copping the closest tag of the year. Yeah, he's really worried.

8 coaches votes in the last round and 8th overall in the entire competition - that suggests some okay form to me

He will have a hard tag every game for the rest of the year.

Incorrect. Some teams (such as ourselves) do not have a player capable of performing the tagging role.

Brisbane - Berry but that takes him away from the wing role.
Geelong - Mullin is odds on to go to him again.
Adelaide - no tagger unless they pull the ANB card.
Hawthorn - Seem to have become more system based rather than using Maginness.
Freo - Wagner went hard earlier this year and would like go again.
Giants - Bedford the clear tagger.
Dogs - No tagger.
Suns - No tagger.

These are the teams that matter in the grand scheme of things.

Exactly.I thought the same thing when he won those two clearances. He could well be the answer to our centre clearance problem.
Just shows how much someone like Butters or Richards transforms your midfield.

De Goey can’t do that anymore, sadly. Hopefully McCreery can build himself up to be able to do it more without getting hurt. Nick can already do it but the only place he can get any space at stoppage is out the back, for now.
