I love a bit of biffo but I thought it was spot on by 206.
He was never going to get reported for hitting his arm and with each blow seeming to get a bit harder there was some chance he could crack a bone - Brown = IDIOT
He looked like he was playing "knuckles" with his Brother, and I'm guessing "Warnock the less fleshy" was a knuckles KING.:D

Does anyone else think that if we show nothing this week its panic stations?

With Ratts giving the players a public bake and questioning their hunger, want, heart and voicing his embarrassment etc, the players should come out fired up and keen to make amends.

But If the players don't respond, and serve up the same efforts they've been serving up, does it mean the coach isn't getting through to them? and there maybe an even bigger problem within the group?
i mean everyone sez we're young, and we are, but surely the effort MUST be at 100% each week regradless of the result.

*for the record im not trying to turn this into a sack ratts thread (i dont want him sacked) im just asking what others think, as Footy Classifed made a big deal about what Ratts said post game.

Absolutely.

I don't think we even have to win. We just have to compete. If we turn in another insipid effort this week after the bake and demands Ratts will have put on them he would have to be massively under the pump for the reasons you said.

I am very worried for Ratten. If we put up the same shit we have been then I think he may in trouble. Don't get me wrong I think it has S.F.A to do with Ratts and more about the players, but you know that coach's always get the blame when a team plays like shite.

ratts needs to backup his talk with action. Anyone who he deemed to have avoided the contest are to be dropped for the rest of the year and hard men like robbo or players who show heart need to come in regardless of skill level.

this year is over, may as well work out who has the passion to play pro football

and Lyon is an idiot, its pretty obvious warnock was absolutely buggered.

This. 206 acted responsibly, no doubt realising how many cameras would be focussed on the incident should it escalate. He couldn't have done much more without getting into strife. A free kick paid against Brown for holding the man should have been the result of this, but unfortunately some umpires don't possess the commonsense to do this to prevent incidents potentially escalating.

Followed Carlton for a long time now and l can confidentally say that was the weakest team effort l have ever seen from our club.

I have witnessed several 100 point hidings in that time aswell.

Ratten has put pressure on himself with what he said after the game, l dont have any sympathy for him though, reason being he should have been putting pressure on this group much earlier than this and not as severe as what he has came out with in the press.

The writing has been on the wall for all to see that we lack physicality for awhile now yet Ratten only sees it now, strange.

Hope for his sake and the clubs that the players respond positively.

As for Lyon what a tool, was a heartless player himself yet thinks he can critisize others and lol at him asking fat hutchy what he thinks as if that squibb would know anything about hardness.

It was a cheap shot by Lyon. What was Robbie to do?

Smacking him in the jaw would've seen Lyon berate him for not being able to handle his emotions and being a sore loser.
Then Lyon went on to suggest he actually smack him and take two week suspension. What a moron - we barely have an in form ruckman and he suggest we just give one up despite the game being lost.

Would love to see how tough Leigh Brown gets against a 30 year old Ottens who would spit in his face for being such an inferior being.

He also sounded like a moron when also having a go at Betts for having a man who is 17 centimetres taller than him and 15 kilos heavier than him break a tackle, even though Eddie had chased from the pocket to catch a man that probably wasn't his.

Exactly. Surely he could have found better examples than those? Sure you'd like Warnock to have done better but at the expense of a free kick or suspension?

Let's have it degenerate into the tripe we saw vs. the Kangaroos...

As for the O'Brien incident, he does that every week. Notoriously hard to tackle and Lyon was clutching at straws with that footage.

Seriously, if there was a good old-fashioned all-in brawl how many blokes in our current side would be any good?

Out of all of our recent picks, only Steve Browne (doesn't play enough) and Mitch Robinson (yet to fill out) come to mind as having a bit of a violent streak, although I'm hoping Marcus Davies does.
I'd back the Tasmanians plus Walker, Yarran, Betts and Garlett if a brawl broke out.

Good luck being fast enough to land one on our indigenous players.

Just look at Cyril go on the weekend. :thumbsu: :D

It's a mystery why everyone thinks aboriginal players are soft and outside players.

Some of our greatest boxers have been indigenous.

I didn't see Maxwell or anyone stand up for Thomas in 2007.

Didak does jack and hides behind the ump after Walker fronts him...

Juddy came in after Maxwell took a cheap shot last year, yet the umpire told him to not get involved.

Nice one Garry.

Yes, I think he has
Surely he will be tempted to go with the hardest team he can select which made me remember Joey - thought he was one of the few that were not awful v Willie

That's the one good thing about Waitey's silly indiscretions this year.

He's actually shown more mongrel in a few games than some have shown all season.

He actually looks like he's getting angry out on the field at times, shame some others can't get enough fire in their belly to feel the same way.

The only part I agree with is your use of the word "silly" - Waite has been a major disappointment.

He is nearly a 10 year player at the club - but still does silly undisciplined things on the football field, rarely plays percentage football and rarely plays consistently good football.

Waite has the talent and potential to be anything (ut to use the words potential and talent for a 10 year player is majorly disappointing.

Time for Waite to show us what he can consistently do for us "week in and week out" - otherwise I say we put him up for trade and see what first round draft pick we can shake from the tree.

Yep. I posted this last week. He has all the talent to be doing what Pavlich and Buddy do, yet rarely is it seen.
I know he's coming off a knee reco, but even before that he rarely pushed himself to excell IMO.

Waite is in serious danger of finishing a career with us saying "what could have been"?

IMO he holds a major key to us going to the next level. If he can unleash his potential on a weekly basis we have a match winner KPP........a rare find indeed.

Meh...the only guy to win his position gets a bake? 21 other guys should have been ahead of knockers in this line-up.

And at the end of the day Leigh Brown has to go to sleep at night with the knowledge that he is Leigh Brown. Cut the guy some slack.

I can smell a 'line in the sand' game on the horizon although, you guys are still in with a chance of playing in September so probably can't afford to have 3-4 blokes out for 6-10 weeks. Still, would be good to see another club take their frustrations out on the Bummers.

I'd be a huge fan of this, especially against Essendon. :thumbsu:

Bring in blokes that aren't even that good like Carlos, Robinson and Wiggins if they're available and exert some physical presence out there. Showing that is just as important as winning this week as far as I'm concerned.

We've lost all respect and are being laughed at. I reckon this is one area where we've missed Fev more than on the scoreboard.
