Question to R.R, Sydney defeated Geelong by 13 points and won all four quarters. I think from memory you said the lowest winning margin for a side achieving this feat is 7 points. Would Geelong have participated in a game where one side claimed all four quarters yet won by less than 13 points?
Losing sequences:
Code:Venue CW Cb Year Rd ------------------------------------------- Skilled Stadium 22 WB 1971 21
WB/Footscray's losing streak at Kardinia Park is 12 matches. (Which is still the longest.) The streak of 22 is "without winning" and includes a draw, round 1 1957. Although having played and won matches at Kardinia Park before Geelong VFL did*, the Bulldog's 1946-1971 Kardinia Park 'hoodoo' was by the late 1960's the most infamous in the League. * The Eastern Oval, Kardinia Park (which was its official designation) was home of the ill-starred Geelong Association team 1922-1924. So Hawthorn, Nth Melbourne and the Dogs all played there in their VFA days before Geelong VFL ever did.
I misquoted my mate, apparently Saints have won their past 25 Saturday night games at Docklands.2 things
1. RTB I think the table should be minutes per goal (min/g)
2. A STK supporting mate said that Saints have won 25 in a row at Docklands. Is this the record for the ground? What about the other grounds (I know the Kardinia Park record)

if west coast win this weekend, would 17-5 be the best ever record for a team finishing fourth of the ladder??
for that matter would 16-6 be the best ever??
essendon 15-7 in 1983 was only good enough for fourth too. in a 12 team competition.
Which led to Richmond's 13-4-1 record being the best to miss the finals.Highest match/win percentage for a team finishing 4th
was Essendon in 1966 - 77.78% - 14 wins from 18 matches,
Which led to Richmond's 13-4-1 record being the best to miss the finals.
I could easily look this up but I'll let somebody else enjoy the delight of researching it.
How often, if ever, have the top four teams at the end of the home and away season also been the four previous premier teams, as is the case this season with Collingwood (2010), Geelong (2009 and 2007), Hawthorn (2008) and West Coast (2006).
(Done partly by eye - could have missed one)
Is it right to assume the sequence stops at four teams? Thus, the next question would be: How often, if ever, have the top five teams at the end of the home and away season also been the five previous premier teams?
