Just a quick one.

Noticed in the 4th Qtr of the Richmond Collingwood PF, Collingwood kicked 3.0 and Richmond kicked 2.0.

I have no idea if these are common occurrences or not.

a) Neither team scoring a behind in the same quarter.
b) Neither team scoring a behind in the quarter, with both teams kicking goals.
b) Neither team scoring a behind in the quarter, with both teams kicking multiple goals.

Can anyone check those?

Are you asking in relation to grand finals only?

Extra time in finals. There have been 3 in the AFL, and there was one in the VFL finals this year. I also seem to recall more than 1 in the NAB Cup.

Have there been others in the VFL? And any links to the NAB Cup games?

Not sure about NAB Cup games, that is weird.
Technically the home and away game at Waverley where lights went out and came back Tuesday night to finish game, I'd consider extra time.

The first preseason game to use extra time was between Hawthorn and West Coast on February 25, 1989. The first score after full time had expired won the game. I am unsure whether there have been other such preseason games.

I know how to check this manually, but I was wondering if someone hasn’t it in a file or something.

Sydney home crowds
Does anyone have the average for when
1) there is no rugby at the sfs
2) when there is rugby at the sfs

And even when checking manually, can really only do that for rugby league through afltables.

In 1978 there were 153 century scores during the season, which was a record at the time. Where does this total now rank 40 years later?

It's a fair way off the record now (eq. 14th).

Top Ten Seasons for Century Scores:
2000 - 199
1982 - 177
1987 - 177
1992 - 177
1993 - 171
2008 - 169
2013 - 169
1991 - 168
1979 - 162
2001 - 161

In 1978 there were 12 clubs playing 22 home and away games each. That is about 7 of the teams each round scoring a century or more. I know my own club the next season only missed scoring a century in 3 games the whole season. All very wet and muddy days to play on those three matches under 100. Now we seem to have gone around two seasons without one...lol

In 2018 there are 18 clubs playing 22 home and away games each. There would need to be around 230 century scores now to be of similar ratio.
Scoring seem to be at it's peak in 1980's and early 1990's. In one of these seasons of early 1990's Geelong team scoring over 3000 points in home and away season. Clubs get nowhere near that now with the heavy congestion game of 22 players each team.

This shows the figures for every year from 1970 onwards. The highlighted ones are the top ten all-time years. I should have just posted this last night!

In case the % figures appear incorrect, it's e.g. for 2002, 148 divided by 370 (185x2)= 40.00%!

Brilliant work. Thank you. Some amazing spikes in there. 1982 must have been so much drier than 1981 winter so suburban grounds lot better for higher scoring football. It is even more staggering to see it at 26% now

You had me curious to see if there was a round in 1982 where every team scored a century or more.
Found one.

There were just two games (of 24) in 1979 where Carlton failed to score 100+ points. In terms of the number of games in a season (22) and the % of games played in a season (91.67%), that is the best on record. Carlton also hold the League record for the worst year (2007) for having 100+ points scored against them, as it happened 21 (of 22) times, 95.45% of games.
