You've gotta admire the Saints fans who keep bringing up the the mistreatment of women card. No doubt your moral indignation has led you to campaign your club to get rid of a few choice individuals from your team?

No? Hypocritical much?

Who currently on the St Kilda list has been found guilty of bashing a woman?

Nice try

Suggest you get your facts right.
"The tribunal jury accepted Baker's account of events, with the player saying he was running in front of Farmer, before stopping and propping causing Farmer to run into the back of him."
Baker initiated the contact so he has a duty of care. Crap rule but its been the same for 20 rounds.

farmer was following baker, baker stopped and you agree that farmer ran into the back of baker, while baker and farmer were running in a straight line?

seriously?

jeez just about every player is going to get reported and suspended if that is an offense now.

No means No, except to a couple of current Aint and never will be players.

Also, there are toilets provided in bars for the purpose of urination.

erm would you like to say what the saints players were charged with?

as for urinating in public, while that is pretty disgusting its hardly bashing someone is it?

How do you know there was a block? You say "We don't know what happened in this instance" but then immediately state "there was a block". How do you go from we don't know to (I know) there was a block? Are you taking Baker's word for it? If so, how do you know it wasn't a block with raised elbow, or short-arm jolt?

And who cares? Isn't the penalty not so much worked out by how he hit him, but more about the outcome, and the fact that whatever it was it was behind play?

Where are you Fireman? - i am awaiting your response to this question on "the block". Or was it just a little difficult to get your head around?
Please enlighten me.

i think you need to point to an press article where a st kilda player has been found guilty...

It's amazing the leniency being a well off public figure can buy sometimes. Just ask OJ. Or any American Senator.

once again I ask you to identify where a st kilda player has been found guilty?

on the other had we KNOW farmer is a drink driver and a wife beater...

You're right they were never found guilty.

Robert Mugabe has never been found guilty of any crimes either. Not that I'm comparing any footballers to madman Mugabe. He's just an example that a guilty verdict from the legal system isn't the be all and end all when it comes to moral issues.

Anyway back on topic (this dan warna's uncalled for attacks on Jeff rey are getting oh so boring), a poster on another site found this which shows Baker has previous form:

Edit: See above

I know it's staggering to think you Freo scumbags are still celebrating this victory.

Don't you have a life?

I dont think a single Fremantle fan has taken this case personally. It seems all Saint supporters are bagging Fremantle but we dont really care. If he got off I really wouldnt care, doesnt effect my club one bit.

Sorry I missed the question, ok, I am going on what Baker has said and which has been echoed by all witnesses, so therefore pretty easy to get your head around.
By all accounts he was in front of Farmer with his back to him, surely you would have heard these accounts from diff sources, no?
I don't know if he lifted his arm , I didn't see it, either did the tribunal.
Baker said he stopped in front of Farmer and they condemned him on that, bit strange don't you think?

Baker is one player who I really have a constant battle with myself as to whether I hate or like him.

I really admire that he is able to get the absolute best out of himself, and achieve more than many people with so much more talent than him does.

I loathe that he plays outside the spirit of the game. You could also say that he plays outside of the rules, but it's the umpires jobs to enforce those rules, so if they don't it's not Baker's fault. You could also argue that every team has a player or two that comes close to crossing that line as well.

Seven weeks is a huge suspension, even though he had some points hanging over his head from his previous bad record. Surely no player would be so stupid as to deliberately hit a player off the ball that causes such major damage in this current sanitised environment that is AFL football today.

Oh please. :rolleyes:

Try reading just this thread again.

Freo = compulsive liars.

There seems to be four types of posters on this massive thread:
(1) honest and intelligent football supporters who realize that Baker was seemingly hard done by to receive 7 weeks for a bump when there are no witnesses or cameras;

(2) pathetic one-eyed biased (non-Fremantle) supporters who don't like Baker and lack the necessary intelligence to form an opinion based on common sense;

(3) Fremantle supporters angry that their player has been struck and care not for facts (and whose opinion is therefore irrelevant); and

(4) St.Kilda supporters (myself included) who are also biased and are no doubt annoyed that Baker has received the largest suspension in a decade for a bump that was not seen.
