Or are you just knowledgable on the fact that he is close with Christensen? If he were to request a trade what would you think is a fair trade from the Cats perspective?

I know Bundy's mum and I know she is close to the Motlops. My mates wife teaches Bundy's young twin sisters and is also close with the Mother of the now departed Cat. Something was said in comment and passed on to myself a while ago after Bundy headed North, regarding Motlop.

Without elaborating further, it's a distinct possibility that Motlop wants to be reacquainted with his mate, and I'm sure I posted this somewhere late last year although I can't seem to find it.

He's not human if he doesn't reconsider his options from time to time. I think he'll be persuaded to stay though. He means to much to the Cats to just pack up and leave.

I think the key will be the contract offer from Geelong. With the Hawkins signing imminent and on an increased wage, the offer to Danger may play a part... we all know money talks now. If Brisbane have the cap space and offer him a deal bigger than what Geelong are willing to offer, well then maybe.

Free Agency/salary cap/ money is ruining this sport.

Players have always moved clubs. Always. The salary cap and free agency are not ruining it. What ruins sports is when you have an EPL-style competition where you have to rely on new billionaire owners if you want to be able to compete...

As OP said, this rumour is probably not reliable at this time of year. But with Hawkins to sign and Paddy Dangerfield being chased, Motlop, who is an absolute gun, is certainly not in the ball park of either Hawkins or Dangerfield. In terms of most likely to help bring premiership success, I'd say 1) Hawkins 2) Dangerfield 3) Motlop. So if he is forced out because he wants 500k instead of 400k, then so be it, I think Geelong will be right.
More likely Enright, Kelly, Lonergan retirements are enough to keep Hawkins and Motlop though (or at least offer what they want) and Dangerfield has to weigh up money elsewhere v successful club...

Ones's RFA and one is not. You also can't get a return on the Dangerfield deal that includes the loses of Tippett, Davis, Bock, Gunston - that's not how you trade nor is it anyone else's problem. Davis and Bock were unfortunate but Tippet and Gunston as others have said were your own fault.

I'll let you in on a secret. If Motlop decides he wants to leave and nominates Brisbane as his preferred destination, then the onus is on the Lions to come up with a suitable deal. I'm telling you now, Geelong will ask for Gardiner and a draft pick, and if you don't come to the table, you won't get him... simple, and you can 'lol' all you want.
