yeah this'll be good.

Inb4 we're hard to trade with.

Also Inb4 I wake up tomorrow morning, forget i've posted this rebuff everyone for still claiming Sheedy is still ghost running the club and we're hard to deal with.

Trade will get done, we'll probably get screwed, shit happens, we move on.

My post has nothing to do with sheedy but all with to why the post was locked, seemed like a fair discussion from all sides before it was. Anyway you are right, we all know ess have been the hardest to deal with if u want to bring it up

Why was the last post locked. I don't get it all. Was a reasonable discussion on the trade. Was it another essendon supporter moderator whose feelings were hurt because a player wants to leave essendon? Seriously when I read the other threads I can't understand it,

Clubs playing hardball during trade period is hardly thread worthy & grounds for trolling

Spot on. Only 1 day of a 3 week trade period is complete, Essendon don't have an early draft picks so they have every right to play hard ball. But in saying that, I think in the end the Dogs 2nd round pick will get it done.

Because there was no discussion. The thread opened with 'Essendon annoy me'. It was simply a means of trolling Essendon. Feel free to actually talk about Crameri, otherwise I'll just lock it again. Or perhaps you'd prefer to start a Western Bulldogs Offseason thread?

No, Essendon should have immediately accepted a second round pick for our no. 1 forward and leading goalkicker at 9am yesterday.

The fact they didn't shows theyre impossible to deal with. As witnessed by the dozens of posters here who've had indepth dealings with the Bombers, and can attest to their stubbornness.

The reaction was no so much that a trade wasn't done, it was the reports that Essendon have stopped negotiating altogether.

I think a deal will get done eventually, and Crameri is not the only fish we're chasing apparantly so a third party or different picks may come into play in the next week or two.

Probably because at this point in time there are no more negotiations to be made? We know your offer, we know what we'll get for him. We could spent the next four days negotiating but why? What are the Bulldogs going to have to miraculously offer that they couldn't today?

I think the second part of your post sums it up mate. We'll go off and work on other deals that we may need the Dogs help in later on.

Agree.

Essendon do have targets in this trade period but without draft picks have very little currency. Crameri is probably about it. They're not just gonna trade him for 22 when he could potentially be used in a multi club deal to land someone we want.

He'll get there eventually.

Pick 22ish for him isn't that bad is it?

Ideally you would want between pick 12-18, but 22 isn't far off that

WB: Take pick 22 for him.
EFC: He is worth more than pick 22.
WB: Take pick 22 for him.
EFC: We think you can come up with something a little better than that.
WB: Take pick 22 for him.
EFC: Get a little creative and compromise a little.
WB: Take pick 22 for him.
EFC: This is not really going anywhere.

News Flash. EFC Refuse to negotiate. They are the most difficult club to deal with.

22 will end up being something like 25.

So a fair way from low to mid teens.
He is uncontracted though and could threaten to walk into the PSD and he would be a good chance to get through to the Bulldogs pick

Thanks mods for keeping it open, I think it is clear most bulldogs think 22 is fair essendon don't. Might need to do something else like player swap instead or just go to psd my feeling is it will get done with 22 and maybe swap of later picks.

So your feeling is that it will get done with more than just pick 22, which is more realistically around 25?

Isn't that what Essendon believe should be the case? You are in fact saying they have a point in wanting more? Careful, Demonic Ascent may label you as being difficult.

There's no doubt Essendon hasn't traded much in recent years. But it stands to reason, as we've been on a long term rebuild so haven't been targeting mature players. We've been drafting our own.

Players who have wanted to leave have been traded. I expect Crameri will be the same. The only exception was Houli, which has been explained - we took a risk because we were dead keen to keep him and the new coaches thought the could talk him around. We lost. It happens. It cost us a pick in the 50s, which was the risk we took to have a chance at retaining him.

I thought the AFLPA instructed Essendon players they could leave as unrestricted free agents?

Surely Crameri could get to the dogs this way rather than getting a trade worked out?
