Need to be a lot stronger above the shoulders than he is to do well there with the lynch mob mentality

He's made it clear in a few interviews he doesnt have the drive to be a top player and is happy at the level he is at.

The Real fans will eat him alive.

Our head of scouting Tony Henry met personally with Lacazette in France last week.

Bilic was due to meet with Batshuayi this week, but couldn't on the back of what happened in Brussels apparently.

The Gokhan Tore rumors are coming in stronger and stronger, but saw Spurs also got linked to him as well. Pretty sure we'll sign him though if we can agree a fee, has a great relationship with Bilic from their time together in Besitkas.

Lacazette would be a great fit imo.

Why anyone would sign Zlatan at this stage of his career is beyond me. He turns 35 later this year. How many 35 year old strikers have arrived in the PL and torn it up. I know Zlatan is very good, but he isnt the player he was a few years ago and coming to the toughest league in the world with age rapidly catching up to him.

Not to mention the mammoth wages he will no doubt want. I just dont see it working personally.

Can't see Spurs signing him either. He probably would have joined you guys if you could have offered him CL football.

I dont want him so im taking that as a blessing

Seems like a Mou type of signing anyway.

I thought you didn't want a big bloke up front :)
Yep still hold that view, but I'd rather Zlatan on a 1-2 year deal than say Benteke on a 4-5 year deal.

The wages would probably be astronomical for us though ($200K a week plus), so I don't see it happening.

Would be a big statement of intent though if it did happen.

Would it? Signing a 35 year old in the EPL could end in tears. Zlatan will want crazy wages and a 2 year deal. I'd stay away personally.

I mean with the move to a new stadium, we could still afford it financially on a short - term deal I would figure.

And I think Bilic would be the type of manager he'd need to stay motivated if that makes sense.

But I don't see it happening still, only if we don't sign Lacazette or Batshauyi.

Whenever I have seen Hazard he's seemed pretty good, got a bit of everything and busted his ass the main focal point for a defensive team who are falling now that he's down. For me that tells me he's a pretty valuable player, and could be reaching his peak. He won't need to carry Real's attack and won't get lambasted for not defending here, I think he will enjoy the attacking and technical style of La Liga.
Actually, in the games he hasn't played this season we have looked better and I'm guessing that our win record is better without him than with him. In 2014 when Costa, Matic and Cesc were firing he didn't play as well so you'd want him to be the focal point of Real otherwise you'll get a return similar to what he offers up at Belgium. And you're right, he won't get lambasted for not defending at Real Madrid but he will for not scoring.

I'd say he's worth about 40m and you guys will probably cough up around 80m for him.

The Gotze to Liverpool rumours have gone up a notch on both sides of the English Channel over the last few days - Raph Honigstein, Di Marzio and journalists from Bild, The Guardian and The Express all reporting that he is keen to re-unite with his former mentor on Merseyside in the summer, and that Bayern are willing to let him go for around 30m.

Gotze is an interesting one. He's had a poor and injury plagued 2015/16 season which has seen him on the outer at Bayern (the only reason he's on the market in the first place), but at his best he's undoubtedly a superb footballer who ticks a lot of boxes and would interest a lot of sides. For that reason he'll still command extremely high wages which in addition to the transfer fee is going to put all bar 7 or 8 clubs out of the market for him. The question is; which of those sides are likely to join Liverpool in competing for his services, and how will Klopp go in his first major test of selling the club and his project to a high profile target?

He's the type of ballsy signing Arsenal sort of need really, but knowing how Arsenal are and the way they are set-up (with Wenger controlling everything), there's not much chance of it happening I believe most people would think.

Would Zlatan accept a low base wage with high incentives? I think a fair few EPL clubs would take him on that basis.

At his age though he probably just wants $$$$$. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Middle East / China tbh.
