The Gotze to Liverpool rumours have gone up a notch on both sides of the English Channel over the last few days - Raph Honigstein, Di Marzio and journalists from Bild, The Guardian and The Express all reporting that he is keen to re-unite with his former mentor on Merseyside in the summer, and that Bayern are willing to let him go for around 30m.

Still not a short tripLittle bit over 2 hours on first class Virgin train. Or a 45 minute flight.

2 hours in first class on a train sounds pretty short to me. I was just in London recently and it took me 1 and a half hours to get to Heathrow from Aldgate in a taxi.
As someone who lives 2 and a half hours from the City i wouldn't call it a short trip.
I would like to think that sort of transfer is beneath us now. We have a much clearer vision of what players are requiredThere is no way we sign him. He'd be a better version of Adebayor on 3x as much and he'd not fit in at all with what Poch asks of his team
It's not much longer than a journey across London in the morning peak. And it's in first class with champagne available. Don't think wags would mind that too much at all.

Fortunately not everyone is motivated by being able to live 5 minutes walk away from places like Harrods, Harvey Nicks and Le Bon Marche, otherwise no-one outside of Saint Germain and the Royal Borough would ever sign anyone!
Yeah fair enough. Not really that big of a deal anyway![]()

The wrong parts of East London yes. But some parts are the best part of the city. Would compare it to those inner-city parts of Melbourne like Brunswick, Richmond etc.Yep. Having spent time in London I can honestly say IMO it is overrated. Good for a shopping spree and that's about it. East London was not very nice either, spent a whole day there with friends.

East London's improved a lot though, especially in Stratford post the Olympics.Yep. Having spent time in London I can honestly say IMO it is overrated. Good for a shopping spree and that's about it. East London was not very nice either, spent a whole day there with friends.

You have to be careful in many parts of the capital - especially if you are a young, somewhat naive, middle class white Australian. I'd stick to the tourist destinations - like anyone should in a dangerous city. The wrong parts of East London yes. But some parts are the best part of the city. East has been majorly regenerated in many of its parts. The worst area now is probably around Tower Hamlets which is near Canary Wharf. Barking area is pretty bad also.I didn't have too much of an issue in East London. Was with a couple who both were Australian but living there. We even got on the piss at the Boleyn pub where there's supposed to be no away fans
I did notice that the flat screen TV at the Boleyn was contained inside a perspex protective case to protect it from flying pints....
Croydon seemed to have the worst reputation in my workplace when I worked over there. Think that was SE London somewhere from memory.East has been majorly regenerated in many of its parts. The worst parts in London are no longer in the East I would say. You don't want to end up in areas like Willisden late at night and on your own let me tell you. I think some of those areas are almost unpoliced now
I'm not very bothered what Real pay for him, doubt he'll be a world record fee so he's not going to be galactico, he'll end up James mould. The pressure will likely remain on Bale. At Real there'll be stars as big as him and a few bigger ones which should play in his favor, since he's clearly not comfortable being the main guy like he is at Chelsea.Actually, in the games he hasn't played this season we have looked better and I'm guessing that our win record is better without him than with him. In 2014 when Costa, Matic and Cesc were firing he didn't play as well so you'd want him to be the focal point of Real otherwise you'll get a return similar to what he offers up at Belgium. And you're right, he won't get lambasted for not defending at Real Madrid but he will for not scoring.
I'd say he's worth about 40m and you guys will probably cough up around 80m for him.

Could be some fantastic players coming in to the Premier League this summer.
Xhaka to Arsenal, Gundogan to City, Gotze to Liverpool all looking possible, Pogba attracting a lot of interest from Chelsea, Mourinho to renew Fellaini's contract with United for another 10 years.
Exciting times.
