Midfield next season will be something along the lines of:

Pretty happy with what we have there as a base to build from. 1 of Lucas/Can sweeping up, Coutinho/Lallana at #10, Henderson working one side of the midfield, Allen & Milner providing cover, we just need to add a player with a bit of vision & class on the ball in that final spot in the midfield 3 and I'll be comfortable with our options.

So you agree then that we spent £25m on a squad player (Lallana)?

As I've said numerous times in the Liverpool thread, when everyone is fit and available, Lallana doesn't start.

He's a good player but I seriously don't understand how people can justify spending £25m on him.

Can't see lallana accepting a bit part role for another year. He'll be wanting to play most weeks.

Whether he will or not remains to be seen but you can imagine him seeing Milner come in on big money and worrying how much game time he's going to see.

You heard it here first, 3 free transfers, a £15m right back and a couple of outgoings and that's all she wrote for the 9th wealthiest club in the world in this transfer window.

Come on, a pinch of common sense wouldn't go astray!

Lol if you don't think Milner is starting.

At the moment I'd have him competing with Lallana on the right wing in our best XI, but given the number of games we're going to be playing next season I'd say the idea of a 'best XI' is going to be a pretty fluid concept. All will get plenty of playing time.

Sterling--Sturridge--Lallana/Milner
-----Coutinho---Henderson-----
----------Lucas/Can--------------

Obviously that may change pending any other signings coming in over the next 2 months.

I just read on the Liverpool thread that apparently terms have been agreed with Kovacic.

Where is the uproar from Liverpool supporters that their club has tapped up a player? Or is it OK cos they are not the victims?

Someone's just a little bit obsessed with Liverpool supporters and still having a sook about the Suarez situation. It's obviously too difficult for you to work out for yourself but we have approached Inter directly to negotiate. Much the same way we did with Coutinho. There is nothing wrong with approaching a club directly and asking them if you can negotiate with one of their players you know.

In fairness, he was injured on and off throughout the season.

But having said that, look at many of our "bigger" games of the season (such as the final CL game) and our £25m signing who was fit and available did not even play.

I can't see him ever being anything more than a handy to good player whose value is probably about half of what we paid. Unfortunately, we can't afford to be paying £25m on squad players.

Get French Football News can exclusively reveal that sources have informed us that PSG and Lyon have reached an agreement for the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette.

This sensational deal includes a loan back to Lyon for the 2015/16 season. The player has, according to our source, agreed to a five year contract with the Ligue 1 champions, which means that when he returns to PSG in the summer of 2016, he will have four years remaining on his deal.

It is our understanding that the broad-brush transfer agreement was reached on Thursday in a meeting in Paris. The player’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas, PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi and Alexandre Lacazette were all present.

Sources tell us that Alexandre Lacazette was therefore absent for a period of time on Thursday from Clairefontaine as the French national team continued to prepare for their friendly match vs Belgium. This absence was explained away by Lacazette who claimed to “be feeling unwell” to the rest of the team. In reality, he was on his way to Paris. Didier Deschamps was informed of the actual reason for his absence and gave his go-ahead for Lacazette to make the meeting.

The only other person that Lacazette is understood to have informed about the meeting was Lyon and France team-mate Nabil Fékir. The details of the fee and contract agreement will follow, but an agreement in principle has been reached. Alexandre Lacazette to PSG.

This makes no sense.

Wonder how legit it is.

adl must be devastated we missed out on lacazette [emoji14]

also milner is probably our 2nd best player so he is defn starting 11.
Geez, give it a few more months and he'll be up there with Messi and Ronaldo.

Never seen a player improve so much without kicking a ball as I have this week.

did you watch our team this season, trust me milner is now our 2nd best player behind coutinho?

I have when Bony joined City. The way some City fans rattled on about him you would have thought he was going to lead City to the title once he returned from the ACN.

what part?

there's big question marks on whether or not ibra will be at the club next season, let alone the one after. gives lacazette a guaranteed move to the dominant team in france, a big pay rise, but also gives him the chance to play for lyon in the cl for a season.

Really? Got any examples of that?

Also waiting for him to respond to why Falcao hasn't signed for United cos they HAD to sign him.

I couldn't give a shit about Suarez or any situation.

How do you know any player that has ever left Liverpool wasn't approached legally?

Right after you quote me examples of "Milner becoming a better player without kicking a ball"
Have a look at last years world cup threads when more than a few posters thought he didnt deserve a place in Englands squad.

I could give you quotes but I wouldnt want to embarrass certain individuals.

adl must be devastated we missed out on lacazette :p

Not as though this is unexpected to anyone, I did post this a few days ago:
That's why I don't think we'll get Lacazette, not because we can't afford him, but because there are probably going to be 1 or 2 more attractive clubs who are also looking for a striker of his calibre.
Would've been nice, fortunately he's not the only striker on the market.

Geez, give it a few more months and he'll be up there with Messi and Ronaldo.

Based on the gospel according to Faith? Haha I thought you'd have learnt your lesson by now.

Go on, enlighten us. Still doesn't deserve a place in the England team IMO.
