It would be kind of pointless for Suarez to go now; after all the hard work he has put in to help the club qualify for the Champions League, surely he would want to stick around and enjoy the fruits of his and his teammates' labour.

No doubt he'll get his move to Spain one day, but I'd be amazed if it were this summer.

Just wanted to post this not because of the fact it's Hull (though of course that's the reason I read it) but the importance of finishing each place higher. Also of note that I found important is Bruce's comment that we budgeted for finishing 20th. I think a lot of clubs would avoid financial perils if they budgeted similarly. Of course if you want to be more ambitious and aim higher you have to spend a bit more, but for newly promoted clubs/struggling clubs, I think being reasonable with your budget is incredibly important.

But Bale is the perfect comparison. Look how Spurs went and spent that money. I would rather hold onto Suarez, knowing that he can produce, than gamble on finding two or three players who can improve the squad. A known quantity to me is always better than an unknown. It's why I've never liked the idea of being a 'selling club' unless you're a Soton and have churned out so many brilliant youth players that it's not exactly an unknown.

He has a clause now - $80 mln and no Premier League clubs is what I understand. But club and player must agree to transfer if clause is triggered.

He re-resigned, plus he had the release clause before which Arsenal activated but Liverpool refused to sell.
