greece, ivory coast, japan, uruguay. it's not exactly the strongest of tests. the big test comes against brazil. but 60 mil is a bit much to spend for someone based off 4 world cup games. i know he's impressed at porto and then monaco, but 60 million is a lot of money.

Monaco isn't exactly a tinpot club, and Ligue 1 has changed ALOT with the influx of money from PSG and Monaco. It's almost on par with the Serie A in my book.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter.

Anyone who thinks Rodriguez isn't "established" enough for that kind of money has pretty stupidly high standards. Being the best player in two of the largest 6 euro leagues by the age of 22 is a good enough CV for me.

No they wouldnt. You can bet they will dangle Sanchez to get Suarez first and foremost. Then if that doesnt work, they will try for the bidding war.

Good signing for you guys - especially if the rumours of Michu and Bony leaving are true. Might be on big wages though? We were keen on him but he reportedly wanted close to $90k a week!

Scored 22 goals in the French Ligue 1 last season and has scored 15 or more goals for quite a few years now so seems to be relatively consistent (though the 22 goal tally he got last season is his best I think).

Remember seeing him when he was first breaking out with St Etienne, the French media were calling him the next Drogba (this was probably back in 07 I think). Still, I think he will be a good addition for you guys! Will be interesting to see how he takes to the English style, his pace and strength should serve him well.
