Lallana was battling with blokes like Bale and Walcott for a position. Shaw was battling with Danny Fox...
Um so wrong it's not even funny.

Bale played LB at Southampton and Walcott played as a striker. By 07/08 both had already left and he still wasn't in the side. Good try inventing facts though

nothing like changing history

Embarrassing lack of facts.

Sorry we were wrong! Back then Lallana must have been a LB/ST competing with both of them while they played in North London?

Now you mention it I remember Bale at LB. Not Walcott though. But cut me some slack, they were in the 2nd and 3rd divisions FFS! ;)

Not sure why anyone responds to the Liverpool trolls.

Is a waste of time - they will never changed their moronic opinions and it just clutters the thread.
I don't follow the Championship and 3rd Division all that closely, I'm sorry. I recall Bale being a LB now. They all play similar positions now.

If you think Moyes was the sole reason that you finished 7th then just lol.
Im pretty sure you guys only finished 2nd because of Suarez, without him im pretty sure you will go back to mediocrity while with LVG we will up there challenging again.

I think the last month of the season has destroyed them, along with the fact that they know deep down that this season was a once in a million thing.

He was about 70% of the problem. I'm not defending the players, but if SAF was in charge last season there's no way in the world we would've finished 7th.

So basically Van Gaal is a SAF level (or close to) managerial talent in your eyes. And you're both of the opinion that your team is one that is ready to challenge for titles with Man City and Chelsea, because of Van Gaal's presence.

Am I correct?

Did I say that? All I said was if we had SAF last season we wouldn't have finished 7th. Never mentioned LVG and challenging for the title.

Are you ******ed? You just said in your last post that "with LVG you'll be up there challenging again".

Fair enough. I too agree with that. But you have to admit your team has serious issues, especially in defence.

Wow. You seem extra inflammatory tonight.

Manure fans acting exactly the way they used to mock us for acting in the off season. Our fans just acting like normal haha. Amazing all the United fans that have come out of the woodwork again but there was **** all about for most of last season, funny lot I guess. I have no doubt they will be improved but I do chuckle at the bandwagoners who think they will challenge for the title, they're that far behind Chelsea and City it's not funny. Van Gaal may be a great manager but he doesn't have the aura within English football that SAF did, he won't have the referees and FA shitting themselves like old bacon face used to. They can certainly make top 4 which will be battled out with us, with Spurs a outside chance and Arsenal if they don't live up to expectations who would be comfortably ahead going into the season of everyone but the main two.

I think in the Shaw/Lallana debate both are terrible deals. Both well overpriced with English tax, I wouldn't pay 30m for any left back, let alone one that while he has years and potential isn't near the best in the world. Same thing with Lallana, I'm sure he will fit in with our system but there would have been equal of better players outside of England or English nationality that were a lot cheaper with equal or better talent. I guess at the end of the day if both clubs have the money to spend well so be it, they are both worthy of playing for good premier league clubs. The problem only really arises if money becomes an issue in other deals, which is what pisses me off... why hold out because of money on Moreno if you're happy to overpay for others.

As close as any current manager I'd say

Care to name even one united supporter on here that has come out of the woodwork?
