News Suns to ask for Pick 1 as a priority pick

Wow, I can live with the picks this year, but 3 years Geez. Way to much.

Not having to bid for academy players and 10 Rookies - Wow what a leg up this club has now.

They need it though. The gold coast area is the toughest area to break into sport wise. It wasn't helped by previous administration and list manager.

Feels like along with priority pick at no. 2, they're bailing them out for the pick swap trade with Brisbane last year. Basically given them back their second rounder they gave up.

Gives me a good enough reason now to hate the Suns even more.

Avoided the main board, but I reckon, honestly it is too much assistance. The academy stuff isn't that big, our catchment area is a lot smaller than Sydney's and too this point we have only picked up 1 first rounder in Bowes.

But the picks over the next 3 years is overkill would have taken just the picks this year and been done with it (and even then I wasn't comfortable with pick 1).

I was not against them getting a top end this year, nor would I have been about giving them some mature age priority access/extended rookie list etc. but this feels like massive overkill. Why guarantee them the next few years? What if they play finals in 2021? What's the need to do this?

I think they needed help yes, that's bloody obvious and they are important to the AFL in terms of their survival/success but this is high end manipulation in a competition that's purported equalisation at every turn (lol right?)

Side note, how would you feel if you were Brisbane? You've have the foresight to predict your own rise up the ladder with the pick swap last year, absolutely nailed it, only to be moved back not one, but two spots by that very team who you traded with and with one exactly before your selection at 20.
