Given the strong possibility he'll get boned at season end, what sort of trade deal would he realistically be worth?

Re: What would Didak be worth as trade bait?

Don't get sucked into the trap of assuming we have to let Didak go. I wouldn't trade him. fullstop. O.K. he's not perfect, but he's ours and he owes us.

If he could turn himself around, properly, between now and Christmas, I believe it would serve a far better example to our kids than boning him.

Worth plenty.

However, we have the luxury of doing what we please with him. Nobody has us over a barrel.

He will stay.

"The situation, I think, was that they were looking after Alan after your paper slaughtered him last year.
"As a result of that, that's compromised the decision-making process during the day.

"They came to us and told us later (that Didak was in the car). We are going to have a little bit of time to work through things and reconsider the situation.

"We have tried our best to be as honest as we can with everybody with the information that we had in front of us.

"And now that we have new evidence in front of us we will consider that in the cool light of day and make a decision."

Reading between the lines I think Eddie is on the same wavelength.

I'm pretty sure that they will learn their lesson. They are both arguably our 2 best players. They have both just cost us a spot in the finals this year. The whole playing group will be furious. Its a fair penalty and it will drive the to suceed next year.

Not as much as he was worth on Sunday morning!

A couple of days ago he might have got a first round pick (bear in mind that first round picks are like gold from now on), I have a feeling that the Pies will let him go for the best offer, and I dont think a first round pick will be on the table. All up a second round pick. FWIW, I reckon Sydney will be right in the mix for him.

Re a swap for Kerr, no chance.

Straight swap for Kerr

Difference between worth and realism.

Worth a Kerr but realistically no chance will it happen.

If by some miracle it did happen, how long would it be before Kerr gets kicked out of the club for a misdemeanor?

Maybe Eddie should stop blaming the press and look at the player and the club for the reasons.

Agree it would be a massive risk. But he would come to the club with a clean slate. Didak has already proven he cant clean his act up.

And Kerr is a superior midfielder, which is more what we need rather than a forward pocket which the Eagles would kill for. It would be a fair trade.

Re: What would Didak be worth as trade bait?

One last point. I am reading that there are a lot of people on here who wouldnt trade him, too valuable and all of that.

The biggest mistake Didak made was making a fool of Eddie. I reckon he signed his trade papers as soon Eddie was made to look stupid on National tv yesterday.

Re: What would Didak be worth as trade bait?

Unfortunately for the Pies, the circumstances (ie the GC team) are such that I can't see any team parting with a top 10 pick for him and his bagagge. It's definitely a buyers market.

And no, Kerr for Didak is not a fair trade. I think you'd have to sweeten the deal.

Any team within striking distance of a flag will overlook his off field deficiencies and consider his game breaking ability. North for example may be looking for a long term replacement for Shannon Grant. Adelaide have been looking for a goalkicker ever since they sacked Modra. HAwthorn may consider him a better option than Dew. West Coast may be able to get rid of Kerr for a decent price.

etc etc etc.

Yep, I agree. Didak plus a second rounder could get it done IMO, but there's a lot standing in the way of a Kerr-Didak trade happening.

FWIW, Didak is easily worth a first round pick on his own.

No doubt, but none of those teams will have a top 10 pick, which is probably about what Didak would be worth if it wasn't for his antics.

Would Pies fans really be happy seeing him heading to Sydney for pick 15?

Re: What would Didak be worth as trade bait?

Trade him and Goldsack for Kerr and their firs round
