The Super Smash Bros Brawl thread

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.
I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.
From the smash bros dojo

I know thats the American release date but it kind of applys to us as well, since we are getting the game sometime after them. The later they get it, the later we get it.:(

It feels like this game will never arrive:(

Will be game of the year IMO. In a way it is good that they delayed it. Make the game a good as possible. So it looks like we will be getting it around April/May now.

Haha true that, but this game is just about what most ppl bought the Wii for. It will be bigger then Mario Kart imo. Not saying Mario Kart won't be a great game.
Theres probably a bunch of people waiting for brawl to come out before they get a Wii (although they don't really have a choice)
Just imagine the demand for Wii when Brawl comes out:eek:

Will the camera angles be different for brawl? I mean, they can't be like the old games, side on. The game would have to be completely 3D.

That would be a ridiculous thing to do.

Side on is the only way it could work.

Yeah and without a strenous game engine they can pack heaps more stuff in. It looks like the game is going to be chock full of stuff. 2D (or some people call it 2.5D) is the way to go to keep the classic gameplay. I hope the online scene is looked after, i.e. if their are glitches that people take advantage of they release a fix for it and stuff like that.

I think that is what they are taking care of most, the online bit. They haven't quite perfected it in the other wi-fi games and this would be the one game that they would want to get it as close to perfect as they can. I mean there are always going to be glitches in online games but this game is pretty much the wii.

Pretty much what I'm waiting for before I pick up a Wii. This and Mario Kart Wii.

Then how can you use the wii remote to punch and that?

Basically you have 4 options for controller set ups and it's not a Wii-mote heavy game. There is an option for shaking to smash or something like that but that's pretty much it.

Every Wii game doesn't have to be motion sensor based. Look at Zelda: Twilight Princess and even Mario Galaxy.

The controller set ups are all pretty much traditional controller set ups.

1. Wiimote by itself on it's side. - You might not think it has enough buttons but early reports are it works well.
2. Wiimote + Nunchuck - this would be my preferred choice. You can shake the remote for certain actions as well.
3. Classic Controller
4. Gamecube Controller

A while ago it was speculated that only the classic or gamecube controller would work with the game but they've made 4 options available.

I'll be going with the Classic controller myself.

Yep, it now has the honour of being labeled in the same class of Nintendogs (which also received a 40 from Famitsu). :D

Can't wait for this game to be released personally, but with Fire Emblem, Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes and possibly Medal of Honor 2 all to be released in the next couple months, plus still having to play through GH3 and RE:UC, a delay doesn't concern me much.

Plus Mario kart (in May):thumbsu:
Just looking at their release schedule & i'll be buying at least 1 game a month for the rest of the year. The rumor on several websites is that they delayed this game to make sure they could process enough copies for when they release it.
