Australia need to make sure they don't loose wickets... the wicket is suppose to be a great batting pitch for the 1st 3 days after. Survive the early morning swing and slightly green pitch and there are runs to be had.

That doesnt make sense to me. Why would Rudi send it to the 3rd umpire if he was 100% certain it was out? Obviously he wasnt, hence why it went to the replay.
Then when apparently he has to then makes the decison he gives it out, but he has already proven to everyone that he is not 100% certain so he cannot be given out.

Surely the decison came from Darrel Hair not Rudi. I dont like this 3rd umpire for everything, most of the time it is not cut and dry and I dont see the point.

Clarke caught at bat-pad off Vettori. Rudi Kuertzen went to the 3rd umpire to make the decision. The ball appeared to miss the edge of Clarkes bat, hit his pad, and then clip his forearm on the way past. Apparently 3rd umpire couldn't make a decision so it went back to Kuertzen who gave him out.

What is the point of having a 3rd umpire for this type of decision. There was absolutely no concrete evidence of the ball hitting the bat or glove, yet he was still given out. I'm flummoxed!
