OK - have the regrets thread, but part way through the first round what are the picks you are happy you made? Especially the left-of-field ones. I have Courtney Dempsey in there as a mid-pricer and very happy after tonights game. Anyone else?

I have him to!

His 2nd efforts and 1%ers make him a good SCer, however he is a horrible DTer.

EDIT: Adjusted to 98!

I'm happy with:

Heath Shaw - Even though he was tagged still a better pick than Broughton.
Matthew Kreuzer - Not many people had him and he put out 125
Making pendles captain.
& Picking lance franklin, because i know not many picked him due to the price but he knocked out 142!

I can't say he is left of field or a shock but I grabbed Thompson in the midfield this year over Swan/Pendlebury. If he keeps beasting all the bottom 8 clubs that they play a few times like that I will be a happy man.

I also decided to pick premiums or rookies this year, no inbetween and so far I am relatively happy with the choice.

This. :thumbsu:

Will be a great first cheap upgrade target for people who only have gone with 3 premiums in the midfield.

I went:

Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Barlow, Hayes, Magner.

I am praying Barlow and Hayes will become lock premiums, thus saving me a couple of vital trades.

Harley Bennell and Pearce Hanley are my 2 unique picks I went with and happy with how they performed in round 1. Glad I picked Pendlebury but made Ablett captain over him this round which turned out pretty poorly.

Nice looking midfield mate if Barlow and Hayes can get back to their best.

Barlow already looks like getting back to his best after last nights effort. Just have to see how Hayes goes now.

I have the same midfield as you minus Barlow and Hayes. I think I will be selling cows, magic beans whatever just to get Barlow in as my first upgrade. :D:thumbsu:

I'm happy with Hanley thus far. Hopefully he's in for a big year and goes somewhat unnoticed. I'm also hoping that I'll be able to return to this thread and rave about Dal Santo. :thumbsu:

Why is it that Ryder was in my team until the Essendon board talked me out of it, and now I see all of these Essendon posters with him? Haha.

I did the same. His early draw is against the kids, so he will continue to rack it up. Pendles will drop $50k by the break. Time to upgrade then.

Sam Mitchell, Selwood and Ablett round out my mid premiums. All will be keepers unless injury comes along

I also picked Carazzo over Broughton / Newman / Enright. This choice will be proven to be inspired. Can never have enough mids in your team

I picked Hale over Kruezer as he will be the sole ruckman for the year. Kruezer will be spreading time with Warnock and Hampson, so over the course of the year, I think Hale is the better choice

I started Magner :thumbsu: I started Yagmoor :thumbsd:

Malceski at $380k will be a money maker

Michael Barlow. 72 in a quarter and a bit

barlow owners will be very pleased with that. once he shakes off vest candidation (is that a word? lol) he'll be a very good scorer. i wonder if he'll hit the heights of his debut season before the injury.

buddy is in >60% of teams.

Rockliff is about it. Everyone else I have has thus far either under performed or achieved a par.

Jimmy Bartel 120 - Don't write off a champion of the game
Scott Thompson 147 (c) - Pendlebury as Captain would have been better but he looks like he'll have a huge year with a soft draw.
Putting Magner (120) on the field instead of Ledger...even though Ledger hasnt played yet, he ain't getting 100.
