I think its amazing the amount of respect between the Hawks and Cats thats grown over the last couple seasons.
Its actually great for me, I truly now enjoy and marvel at Buddy, and can freely barrack for you guys - like I did tonight!

pies didn't deserve to win tonight; umpire gifted the game to collingwood in the final quarter. bloody swan stood up when it counted though and grind it out all night.
i admired jordan lewis' toughness even if he is a shit bloke haha

any other Cat fans have the hair stand up on the back of the neck when Franklin kicked what looked to be the match winning goal
It was absolutely phenomenal...and sound of the crowd, even the Collingwood supporters were in total shock as he did what only he and probably a couple others can only do.
Should go down as one of the great goals considering the moment and the scores

Absolutely. Unfortunately it won't be remembered as it should though, much like Goddard's mark last year. If you don't win it's quickly forgotten. Would people still be talking about Scarlett's toe poke if we'd lost?

I don't like the Hawks, but that was an incredible effort.
I didn't think I'd see the day, but I was pretty much barracking for them at the end there. Players build legacies and massive respect by standing up in finals and several of the Hawks players did that.
Unfortunately, the umpiring at the end was pathetic and Hawthorn have a couple of players who just couldn't handle the pressure.
I was also kind of hoping the Hawks could win. Nothing would be sweeter than some 2008 revenge.
Pies didn't convince me. Looked flat for most of the night and don't seem to have that same intensity that they had last year.

GO CATS. Ive gone a full 360 now and hate pies and want cats to smash them. I would have been shitting bricks if we had won last night as how hungry would the cats have been for revenge? To be honest, you are a level above the pies and the hawks this year as has been proven by you in recent games, so I hope you have a injury free practice run today and smash the pies by 10 goals next week and I am gonna smile watching Eddies fat face as you kill an opponent as only the cats can do. I wouldnt bother with the airfares Eagles supporters, save your money........

We hit them high, we hit them low, we had daisy, maxwell, many others hobbling around, so I think they will be very sore for the game next week. Enjoy having a good practice run today, as anyone that thinks Eagles will not get smashed is dreaming the dream lol. Go Cats.

Please, please, please, please, please. I know Hawthorn and Geelong have their differences, but you would be doing the whole footy world a favour by winning the flag this year as opposed to our friends in Collingwood. Good luck for the rest of the finals series

I love how much mutual respect between Geelong and Hawthorn there has been in the past 24 hours. I am happy to say Hawthorn is my most disliked team, but I genuinely felt for their players and supporters last night and they thoroughly deserved the win. Another Geelong v Hawthorn grand final would have been amazing, but hopefully we can do the right thing by the rest of the competition today and back it up next week

I really want to congratulate the cats on their season, regardless of next week. They've had as many doubters as we've had with a bottom place finish, and they showed today why that should never have been the case. Experience all over the ground knocked us out. I've had my cry, and I can reflect on what's been a terrific season for both the eagles and the cats.
I really hope none of our boys come on here complaining about the umps. I think the cats just had the rub, but it was insignificant and unless you make the rules black and white, and make the umpires robots, somebody's going to get the rub, and it might as well be the better performing team.
I will be barracking for the cats with about 40% of the fire I bring to an eagles game next week (I gave the saints about 10% last year and brought the house down).
