Josh Carr's Ruthless Port Adelaide

You know how the club could best support Josh right now? Hand him the reins 6 weeks early. Let him start setting basic expectations re effort and attitude and use the next 6 weeks to figure out who can meet those expectations, and who should be seeking a future somewhere else. This process shouldn’t be starting after the players get their overpaid pampered arses back from their overseas destination of choice. I want the players to know from Monday that unacceptable effort results in shit like 6am beach sessions Monday morning.

The only silver lining from Ken staying there is watching his "legacy" being destroyed.

But yeah aside from that, fully agree with you

Darren Cahill's pupil just won another Grand Slam title.

This will be Darren's last year with Sinner. Don't know if his coaching stint ends after US Open in September, or the ATP Finals series in Turin in November, when top 8 men's seeds from ATP tour play off for what is considered the 5th grand slam title.

Darren supposedly will spend more time in Oz. I hope Josh taps into his knowledge base rather than be scared of him and keep him at arms length, like Hinkley did for years.

Whenever we win from 2026 onwards, how many times do think we’ll hear that it was for Josh Carr?

There is a pretty easy chain of people for that to happen. I reckon it will, also heard those stories first hand at never wanting to touch base with Cahill.

There's a bit of talk around that Cahill might be open to staying on Sinner's team ...

Hopefully he takes Koch’s spot on the board from next year.

As you know, Josh wasn't afraid to have Jenny Williams work with his North Adelaide team on football psychology and motivation after Ken Hinkley's Port Adelaide was afraid to have a Williams near the place.

He is his own man and not insecure about seeking advice.

What a small-minded, insecure little twat Kenny is.

Not sure it was a case of insecurity, but I know that Ken legitimately could not comprehend and was bemused of the idea that a tennis coach (coaching individuals) could translate coaching ideas to a team sport.

That the footy committee and Board of Directors weren't more forceful in ensuring Cahill was more involved is equally as reprehensible.

I would think he's easily bemused by most things tbh. Anyone who's remotely successful hasn't lasted under Kenny. The fact that Darren's a son of Port royalty and a winner would've only compounded the issue. He (Ken) is the definition of insecure.

Besides being offended about Chad and his beloved Ken being given the arse this year, what are his reasons for this?

Josh Carr has not coached a single game yet, so it can't be about coaching as no one really knows how Josh will go when he is in the drivers seat.

If it is due to the state of the list, isn't a lot of that on his beloved Ken, he has helped build this list so if it's go no bright future Ken should be wearing the blame for that.

Is Ken so out of touch?
No, it's the list management team.

:D

Without knowing the ins and outs, it never felt harmonious from the outside, the departure felt quiet and swift. Would think there would need to be a lot of water to go under the bridge with this regime to have Darren return to the foil.

But he is what we need leading us off field in terms of standards and expectations to be genuinely elite! Tredrea for all his Bottom Sun Bleaching thoughts and theories can oversee the football department. I would happily let Koch continue in Richardson’s role, but bring in Cahill to oversee the board as an entirety.

100% Totally ironic that basically his criticism is of the list and the position it is in, but Hinkley gains no attention for his responsibility in that.

To be fair he doesn't really pick on Carr, he more just criticises the list.

My problem is I don't think it is the list. I think we have some pretty decent quality all over the park, but injuries and a poor gameplan exposes us regularly.

The other problem is with the board, creating such a stale environment and not injecting the change into the football department that we desperately need.

STFU Kane you actual worm. Literally a piece of gum I stepped on and sticks to my shoe like the worthless idiot you are. The fact you are happy to already burn a former premiership teammate and stick up for ballbaghead Ken for so many years proves how stupid you are. **** I hate you.

I think we should throw money at James Rahilly as a senior assistant taking care of the forward line.

I think we need to concentrate on development. Tate Kaesler is head of development at Gold Coast. Never heard of him. Apparently played sanfl then worked in development etc at Adelaide for a decade before going to hold coast.
