Well who do you want?
Stay with Maxfield or is someone else ready to take us to the next level.

For mine, I think Jared Crouch is ready. A former South Australian U/18's captain, he has a vital place in the squad. He's a dedicated team leader, who has the respect of the other players. But then wouldn't it be great if Kirk was captain - just think of the headlines!

I just think the swans would be better off with Maxfield standing down as captain and for him to just focus on his final season with the swans.

Probably right and im sure he agrees. I would love to see Barry Hall as captain but I dont think that'll happen. I think kirk would be the best option.

Goodes was in some people's favours but his injuries and form has degraded his image quite a bit. He is still young and his confidence is low due to the bad lucks of this season.

Kirk would be a good captain, as well as Jude Bolton. Paul Williams could take it till he retires

Ben Matthews??? Are you joking mate, I don't think he's captain material. He's a pretty good player but if he was to be captain of the swans next year then I'd stop watching the footy.
Definitely Brett Kirk captain!!!!

thats a bit harsh. mathews is a champion stalwart of a recovering defence

Aren't we all forgetting our "current" captain in Leo Barry?

Has been around the club forever, leads by example. I think he is the man, but I also agree that our captain might have to come from the midfield which would make me think Kirk or Bolton in 2006.

I'm starting to wonder if Roos is warming to the St Kilda idea of a rotating captaincy. Hope not, but he's recently made some approving noises about the number of "leaders" St Kilda has, and he's doing a two-week rotation with our guys.

In the long term, it has to be Kirk. Goodes is patchy, and can in the right frame of mind remove himself entirely from the game. Likewise the often brilliant Bazza, who when ********ed off completely loses his cool. Barry is too tied up, but a good vice-. No, it has to be the brave, selfless, determind Brett Kirk, the very example of effort over-coming natural flair. Anyone who throws their body into a pack with the same courage as he does would inspire anyone. And after all, the captain is often a symbol more than an actual leader. Though often he is that too.

Yep fully agree with that
