"When you watch a Swans game, it's different to watching any other game. You see so much red and white activity. They are the hardest working, two-way midfield in the competition. It's visually spectacular from a football point of view when you watch it. They're so much more aggressive both ways than most other teams." - Paul Roos

To be fair everyone bitches that Roos is too biased, but isn't this exactly what a number of Swans fans have been saying? All Roos is doing is calling it as it is. It's breathtaking footy to watch when we're up and going.

I'm not sure how to take it really.

On the one hand it's nice to have such an open and unashamed swans love-in but I also don't want us to just become the next big team that's constantly talked up, thus making our brand then seem "egotistical" because we "should" win. This could also filter into some fans who will start to really believe what the media monkeys tell them and act accordingly.

The other teams are diverting the attention to us so every man and his dog has figured us out by seasons end and forgets that "hey, Freo/Hawthorn/Geelong are a pretty good side too, we should look at them as well maybe..."

A mate of mine was saying it's the old "I feel like they are setting us up to fail" notion as well.

Who would know really. I'm just guna take it as everyone is finally seeing what I've been seeing for decades. We are the best team in the comp and when we are playing well we will beat anyone anywhere. I thinks ome people ar ejust simply jealous and intimidated like they would be of any team that can do what we can do.

What you did to my team the Crows was obscene...however stay humble Swans fans....as most of you appear to be and enjoy the ride..... This time last year Hawthorn looked unbeatable and a class above....

Yep and if a few of us get cocky we'll all suffer if we don't win the flag, because people unfortunately like to make generalisations based on a small sample size. It pays to not go too early.

It's funny isn't it, how we lose to contenders(Hawks & Geelong) but then gain back favouritism(read- flavour of the month when we beat Magpies & Crows).paper talk & weight of money are fickle allies when you are winning.
Hawks went through the same last year, talked up as favourites despite early season losses to us & Geelong.

Probably less about the wins themselves, but how we won them. Hard at it, finals style pressure and intensity for much of the Freo match, certainly against the Pies and Bombers. A lot of commentators were talking about the Crows game as the most complete 4 quarter performance of any team this year.
