Clearly the club has upped the media team budget - nice to see more pre-season video. Wonder why now... the penny finally dropped?

Good to see we've raised expectations among a lot of experts, and Tim Watson. I kind of hate it when we're heavily backed because I think we're better as underdogs, but it's a lot more enjoyable than last year when every pundit (and Tim Watson) wrote us off

Kane's very good in the media but seems to cop a pretty bad reputation. Is pretty sensible 95% of the time.

yeah, agreed ... i don't watch near as many footy shows as i once did, but i did start watching "the round so far" (think that's the name) cornes does with riley beveridge, and mostly for cornes ... he's better than most ex-players, for starters

Reckon its got something to do with the clubs 150th birthday.
Skiltons granddaughter - Rebecca Skilton - is the no.1 ticket holder. I reckon there will be a few more iconic names, announcements and achievements this year and all will be publicised

I hadn't heard of him prior to being on Bigfooty, no. I'm very glad I know of him now. He's brought enormous joy and laughs to my life.

But I feel like it's worth taking a step back and realising most casual footy fans couldn't even tell you half the players in the competition, let alone a list manager who is generally only in the news for about 4-6 weeks of the year, and even then it's only if you pay attention to the trade period/draft.

several commentators

ha, yeah ... but there's every chance they'll still be referencing him this time next year ...
Fully expecting to hear it in every Swans game this year no matter what the subject is.

I can just picture Dwayne Russell now...

"And he's landed awkwardly, clutching his right arm. And while we're on the subject of arms, the great Lance Franklin, who's obviously retired now... he has two of them!"

What a kick from Frank.. "snickers" i meant Ugle-Hagan! the natives in Sydney may as call him the new Franklin they love him already!!

Okay. We might do Franklin count at the start of the Autopsy Thread. Heh. Then we can compare - do we get less Franklins when we win and more Franklins if we lose? What sort of game results in a double digit Franklin count?

Because they can't ride the Buddy Franklin gravy train anymore is my theory.

But in the past I think our media team has been truly appalling.

We've had very good players to market like Heeney, Blakey, Chad and Gulden yet until now it's all been Buddy.

I know it's already been posted, but I think the comments from callers were added later in the article.

I hope articles like these keep coming out.
Won't be satisfied til the Bulldogs are folded. Worthless heap of shit of a club.

Slightly embarrassing but I am quoted in that article.

I was reading it and thinking "that sounds familiar" before remembering I wrote it.

Dan?

They're desperately trying to leech off what should be Geelong's scraps in Werribee. I'm not sure if you're taking the piss, but they genuinely should be relocated or folded. I can't believe they got rid of Fitzroy, tried to fold North Melbourne but Footscray get a free pass. They're historically and currently a failure and have no supporter base despite being in Melbourne for a hundred years. Their song is shit too.

Been very impressed with Grundy's content so far.
My wife loves it. She hated him when he joined, kept telling me "you always told me Grundy was shit" but she loves him.
