well what did you think of the game yesterday. I personally think that even though the Swans won they still did not play up to scratch with a large number of inside 50s that were missed. I know it was windy but not too windy. the Swans could have widened the gap completley if they had not missed to the "left" or "right" so many times. For this reason the bulldogs are still ahead of us :( but we will beat em next week I think. As for port well lets just say that the power wont be so powerful anymore and i doubt they'll make the 8

Isnt it funny....Roos has got you guys playing boring pathetic football and Eade has got us playing a very exciting brand of football. Roos is taking you guys down the drain with this crap.........................hes not half the coach Rocket is.

Hi, I'm new here, and I (as my name says) am a mad swans fan.

To tell you the truth, I don't think it's entirely the Swannies fault that the game was low scoring and slightly ugly (although I prefer to call it a gameplan).

Port did their fair share of flooding and Sydney had no choice but to follow suit.

And yes, accuracy is a major thing that would need improving. We presumable have one of the most talented forward lines in the competition yet the goal:behind ratio is not reflecting that.

Vogels and Moore, they have huge things ahead of them.

And I also think the umpiring decisions at time were appalling. Goldspink should hang. I mean, if it's one or two wrong decisions then it's fine. But if your continually letting things go it's just bad umpiring.

Welcome. If i were u, i'd give up arguing against the 'boring football' accusations. No one seems to understand.

Yeah, I know what you mean, even the AFL CEO thinks we're boring...

My God... Careful MadSwansFan, as much as I am fast becoming addicted to this site intelligent statements like your synopsis on the game when it involves the swans seems to be sadly yelled down by everyone else by following the unoriginal statements found in the Melbourne and Adelaide print media...

Otherwise welcome.

I just don't understand why Roos doesn't play a running game. We have loads of running in the team, yet he wants to slow play down and stop the opposition. It's really annoying, and making me want to watch Swans games only occasionally.

Thank you...I think...

And Buddhy, I do understand your frustration but it seems like Roosy doesn't really want to take a risk, but seriously i doubt he has anything to lose. The running game worked for us magnificently in 2003 and the only reason why he wanted to play slow games like these is because he doesn't want the Swans to be a "one-dimensional" team.

I didn't see 90% of the game this week, so i was wondering who all you guys thought was the Swannies best?

Oh, Bazza played pretty well, kicked to and got around 17 possessions.

Micky O kicked 3 and played extremely well.

Kirk, Bolton and Barry, all outstanding as usual.

And the young uns, Vogels and Moore, both played good, Vogels especially, kicked 2 goals I think it was.

How can you get anything positive out of that game other than the 4 points?
The swans should be ashamed of themselves for dragging other teams down to their level. They play the most boring football in the league.

Most boring game of AFL I have attended.

See what we mean......

How about stating why you think so and don’t recycle Michalangelo Rucci (Advertiser writer for the unacquainted) trash like the rest of the Port supporters have being doing since Monday morning.

Perhaps you should start by blaming your own side for that or perhaps that is beyond a Ports supporter comprehension to do so.

Our side were not great but your side played disinterested, lacklustre footy and were slow, very slow across the ground, which is so odd from last year.

I was at the game, I haven't even read rucci's comments. It is a well known fact, and while we didn't play well at all, sydney once again dragged another team down to their level of playing boring stop start footy. Do you actually enjoy watching swans games?

I apologise for accusing you of recycling Rucci's comments when you were merely reciting "well known facts".

Sydney’s fault Port played bad football?

Yes I do enjoy watching the swans play, perhaps that’s because I was around in 93 when we really did play bulls*** footy. There is enjoyment watching them do the hard play, the physical play the tactical play and there were good signs our running game is coming back because we had plenty of loose men across the middle on Sunday. If we learnt to kick at goal the scoreboard would have been a much better sight.

Yeah I know it's not the most attractive form but it's not as bad as so many make it to be.

I'm not blaming sydney for the Power performing poorly. That was our fault.

Just another guy who doesnt understand that we really havent changed our game plan for the past 2 years.

You didn't just "not play well" you flooded. Alot. it wasn't just the Swans, the Swans had no choice but to follow suit.

When will people recognise that it is a legitimate gameplan and that we are not the only team doing it?

As long as we're winning games it doesn't matter. It doesn't take alot to attract Leaguies and Unionites on this side of the border cos they're used to slow games, and this type of play is actually exciting for them.

Get used to it. The only time that this will stop is when Roosy goes, and Roosy's not going anywhere for a while.
