At this point in time, those who don't want expansion won't be swayed. And pointless sh*t-slinging back and forth isn't really in our MO. I also made a post in this very thread yesterday that was ignored by most that weren't already pro-expansion. Hence, my earlier point.

Behind the scenes we are talking with those that might be undecided or are still asking us questions and those are productive.

Appreciate the tag, though

That reads a little sneaky to me. You cop resistance and debate from people who don’t subscribe to the same views so instead of taking those challenges head on and counteracting the debate you cower away and create your own safe zones.

Imagine the melts from people like Bono if somebody against these bids PM’d, implored or begged those still on the fence to not allow the bids to get through. We copped grief as a committee just for having a private conversation free from anybody that was linked to expansion at all.

I wondered why the full bid and committee PM had gone quiet so close to D-Day but now I get it, it’s easier just to run elsewhere than to answer the tricky questions.

any captain who does that should frankly be turfed by their LG

people blame "the committee" for a whole lot of sh*t, but they also have an obligation to make sure their captain is accountable to them, and is representing their views properly
Totally agree, but how would I know if I am being given all the information? I go off what WaynesWorld19 tells me and he has been very open informative from what I have seen. My point is how do I know something hasn't been missed? These discussions should be public.

This doesn't come as a shock.

I expect Wayne isn’t in the new expansion hub to pass anything on.

this will sound kind of insulting, but i dont mean it that way

you know by using your brain.

There is enough chatter going on around the league that is stuff is happening and you are not aware of the details then you have a problem

the fact WaynesWorld19 is updating you in a way that you consider open and informative is probably very indicative that he is supporting you guys as expected. If you had a whole bunch of unanswered questions and he was fobbing you off, then I'd be concerned.

Can understand your hesitation but I will point out one thing. The captains may be the ones putting the club votes together but they are (or should be, I can't speak for clubs other than my own) getting votes from their LG/VC members and the opinions vary. Some of those posters arent totally convinced either way. By holding back from the public eye and dealing only behind the scenes then those members are reliant on being given all the information by their captain. If the captain were to leave out any information be that intentional or not then those that are making the majority vote for the club can't form an informed decision. Essentially your not get your argument across to all the right people.
We have put out public media, held an exhibition game and tried to get involved in multiple match day threads. So, we have been in the public eye. But threads like these going all the way back to the discussion thread that was made before the bids went public are full of the same people trying to discredit the expansion teams. Some more openly, some more subtly so you can't quite see it.

Everything we have has been put on show publicly. In our media threads. In our postings. We aren't hiding anything.

No, we have had plenty of debate and countered. You have been there so don't tell me we run and cower away. We have answered every question asked of us. We have tried to alleviate every concern raised to us. Even when one person's issues contradicts another. The main board isn't a safe zone and all our threads have been here. And we have taken every punch thrown.

And Bono can melt all he wants about it. We won't. Because it wouldn't surprise me if that happened. But it is always easier to be on the side that doesn't want change. That is safe. Familiar. Ironic, isn't it?

That PM either moves at 1,000km/h or is silent for days at a time. That's how it always has been.

We have answered everything asked of us. In the rules, of the committee and anyone else who has had a concern. We have made our bid. It is out there to see. We have explained why we want to expand the league. Why we believe it will be a benefit to everyone. I have explained why we didn't do X or why we did Y late instead of earlier. I don't see any tricky left to answer that isn't just someone's opinion of our list that could we reapplied to any other team or what they believe an expansion bid should look like. It may not look like ours, but that's fine.

We have presented our bid. A bid that the Vampires are proud of. One we worked hard for because, believe it or not, it is hard work.

Mate, he’s responding to Millky saying they’ve taken their behind the scenes conversations with the committee only to clubs that they’ve deemed may still vote yes. It’s a fair concern. Keeping in mind the main concern this was all being done in the shadows was a sticking point for the committee originally, that is.

And I'm telling him he needs to hold people to account. If the furies have a question of the bids, they do something radical which is 1) ask me if I have the info already, and 2) if I don't I get it for them

People can also reach out and ask questions themselves. Plenty have done this to the bids and the committee members during this process

Honestly, if you think I am harming your bids, tell me now... I will just observe from here.

No offence taken. yes i have used my brain and passed on my vote to WW19. yes there is plenty of information out there but tbh i dont have the time to trawl through 20 threads line after line day after day to get all the information. this thread is 1 of many and honestly i didnt read 5 of the last 10 pages because i dont have the time (im supposed to be working right now) if the discussion was had taken place in 1 thread the whole time id have been less likely to miss something. im not saying i have missed anything but i just dont know.

FWIW i agree with what you said. doesn't change the fact when there is a clear public debate your leadership group has been nowhere to be seen. you stated its not your MO, thats fine, we'll agree to disagree but it you and your 22 other team members that will be left wondering what if? if the bid doesn't get up. how much you engage is up to you. ive always worked on the principal the more information the better.

the discussion did have one thread for the vamps and one for the serps, and both Millky95 and haydo were in those threads and responding to queries

AB then created the committee/bid PM to address the questions that needed to be done off the board

the multitude of other discussions occurred organically as people raised their own questions elsewhere across the board.

I also dont understand how you complain in one instance that there was too much info for you to go through, yet your complaining that there wasnt access to enough information

you have had months to have your questions answered. if you chose not to read the discussions, thats on you - not your captain or the bids

i never said there wasnt enough information, more so that i dont know whats happening behind closed doors. my questions have been answered and i have an opinion and have passed that onto WW19. my argument is based off the fact there are posters within our club voting committee that still dont know which way they want to vote. if half the info is behind closed doors how will they know?

FWIW, the committee discussion has reflected the discussion out here. There are literally pages and pages of the same stuff being debated.

I appreciate you clearing that up.

I was hoping for the opportunity to make it known I have answered all questions tricky or otherwise and not run from anything.

Thank you for taking that away from me.

Hey man, I didn't say I was taking the private information and conversation to those "undecided". Nothing more than a query. I'm really interested what there is to add that's compelling enough to pull somebody off a fence that isn't impactful enough to bring somebody to a fence. Intrigued on what stone was left unturned.

half the info isnt behind closed doors. pretty much everything that has been discussed in the committee/bids PM has been conveyed to the clubs and onto the board.

the stuff that is staying behind closed doors is either boring dogshit procedural stuff, or is sensitive in nature (ie IRL stuff)

at the end of the day i think it comes down to transparency. keep it in the public eye, keep it in one thread so all the information is there if someone desires it.

I thought it was clear. Maybe Wánzhěng de jìngbiāo hé wěiyuánhuì PM jùlí D-Day rúcǐ ānjìng, dàn xiànzài tā míngbáile, jǐn zài qítā dìfāng yùnxíng bǐ huídá jíshǒu de wèntí róngyì?

kanji not pinying

If we assume the leadership is best done behind the scenes talking to the people who make the decisions, at the end of the day we know what people like Milko offer but surely having the new people and rookies engaging would help sway some people if they saw new people making posts and talking shit?

Complete communication with the committee PM near D-Day is indeed peaceful, but he understands now that its easier to answer questions other places in the end?
