Will the Cats get out of their form slump against the Swans at the SCG?

Will the Cats get out of their form slump against the Swans at the SCG?

Where and when: SCG, Sunday July 27, 3.20pm

TV, radio and online: Click here for broadcast guide

What it means for Sydney:
A massive chance to take down the ladder leaders, who are struggling for form since the bye, and build some confidence amongst the team's younger players.

What it means for Geelong: After being 10-1 ahead of their bye, the Cats have lost three of their past five games and must get the year back on track against a depleted and inexperienced Swans outfit.

The stat: Star midfielders Patrick Dangerfield and Tim Kelly shared 54 possessions and 14 clearances in Geelong's win over the Swans in round 11. The pair hasn't shown that sort of form of late and loom as the game-breakers on Sunday.

The match-up: Ryan Clarke v Mitch Duncan
Former Kangaroo Clarke is ranked 384th in the AFL's Official Player Ratings and performed some key shutdown roles on the wing earlier this year before being dropped. He might get the job on Duncan (ranked 39th) this week. The Cat uses the footy brilliantly forward of centre, so the Swans must nullify his delivery to help their defenders.
It's a big week for: Gary Rohan

The former Swan started the year well at his new club but has kicked just three goals in his past seven matches and had a solitary kick against Hawthorn last week. Geelong needs him to find some touch at his old home ground.

Big call: Tall target Tom McCartin has struggled to find the goals this season but he'll snag five against the Cats, and ease his side's scoring woes.

Prediction: Sydney by three points

Would it be mean to say I'm pleased Gary Rohan has returned to usual form in the past month?

OK, I'll just say lovely to see Gary doing so well (mostly) at his new home but it would be unjust if he contributed more than his standard 0.5 goals and 8 possies against us his old mates.

Imagine being such a small and petty person that you take delight in the “poor” form of a former player than your club traded out. Imagine finding the glee and joy of hoping that a former player doesn’t do well in their career.

Lin is doing well at Brisbane and you don’t see us piss and moan ..you don’t see us take pot shots at Menzel. No a mature person would wish them well and be happy they have found or re captured their form in a new environment.

But no only a small person would take delight in any drop of form.

Yeah opposition clubs are quite interesting. Rohan has had a bloody tough life surely they wish him well?

Us cat fans hope Menzel dominates and very disappointed he isn’t doing so.
