Went and saw the Tassie v Sandy game and it was a pretty scrappy game on the small North Hobart oval. The Tassie boys got up by about 40 points and won the game by winning the hard ball.

A lot of Demon listed players struggled a bit. Here's a rundown of some of them:

Walsh - One of the better sandy players and won a lot of the ball.
Armstrong - Struggled early but got a few possies late when the game was over. Was on and off the bench a lot, why I don't know, they should just give him a full game for once. I was disappointed by his game, I expected more.
Newman - Was quite impressed, had a good game off a wing/hbf, looks similar to Wheatley.
Smith - Did bugger all, very disappointed with his game but the ground doesnt suit a CHF.
McLean - Dont know if he played or not.
Lamb - Struggled in general, but did show some good signs.
Broadbridge - Did some good things, did some bad things.
Williams - Played ok, as much as it pains me to say it. The more bad games he plays the better.
Heffernan - Soft, soft, soft, soft. Didn't go near a pack, really poor game I thought.

In general the skills were pretty poor, maybe indicative of the pressure Tassie applied.

I was very impressed with Biddlecome for Sandy, rucked well, and did some good things. Also Robinson for Tassie should be drafted, apparently we were going to get him but chose Davey instead. Good pick i think.
:D

Totally forgot to mention that I was very very impressed with Daniel Bell, I knew he was 21 and he looked real good off a hbf. Good skills good courage and a couple of good grabs. If Johnson was #6 then he was ok, didnt have a great deal of game time but did some good things and looks a likely type. Also Cam Hunter was good early nearly took a classic float over the front of the pack one hander (reminiscent of Ken I would say) but he faded.

Daniel Bell is one player I'd like to see in the senoirs fairly quickly. I don't think half a season with Sandy will add too much to his development, he looks ready imo. We're pretty lucky (good recruiting) that we have so many young players putting pressure on the older players to keep their form.

Totally agree there Lamby, within three weeks I'd say.

Wrecker needs to lift, he's got in in him but he'd better bloody hurry! Too loose!

Belly was named best best for Sandy so he can't be far away.

Saw Brock in his suit today, he didn't look too ill so he should be back next week.

Great effort Stinga, cheers!
