people suggesting we should have even thought about getting krak are so delussional its laughable.. he cost a first round pick for starters, and secondly his a forward pocket in a team that wins by 20 goals every week , do u think he would be winning us games hahaha would have been a terrible idea..

It wins by 20 goals because they have Blairs kicking 5 after being in the game for 3 seconds, while we wait for Mitch Morton to get us a maybe 2 after being in the game for 4 years, when the ball is in our FL as much as it is for them.
Here we are scratching our heads week in week out on why we cant seem to ever have a crumber snagging 3 or 4, arguing that they are light, to small all that shit that means shit and here they are with the smallest player in the league having played a handful of games doing what we would give our right nut for.
Now cut the BS Dimma, leave nahas in a pocket to feed off JR's hard work and get some ****ing grunt down there that help out with the defensive stuff. Mitch Morton is fast becoming a Petrified relica who has that uncanny knack of looking like he is putting in. ;)

It's a much easier role for Blair
1. He has the rest of his team executing the game plan perfectly.
2. Their forward line is more potent with Dawes, Cloke, Didak etc.

Morton is a player opposing teams target. He isn't allowed the freedom that Blair gets.

You cannot compare our team to Collingwood, we're at totally different stages in our development.

Leave Nahas in the Pocket? He was one of our hardest workers on Saturday night breaking lines and going in hard up the ground.

That isnt his stock and trade FFS. He is a goal sneak and is being played where he is to compensate for others.
IMO his role should be inside the F50. He has endurance to be able to be on the ground for the whole game and he has to be told that if the ball is coming in high to either TY or JR or whovever else is a tall target, he is to be front and center and for the talls to at all costs, if not mark, to bring it to ground in the front of the pack. The end, you have your 3 goals + a game. If you aint got with the program in the first 3 rounds, we dont have crumbers at the fall of the ball in the F50. Why they continue to bypass this eternal issue that has plagued this club for the last how many years, defies logic. Forever and a day,we sit and think where are our crumbers, and at the other end, week in week out another small forward tears us a new one. Dimma has to cut to the chase and stop ****ing around. Titch and Nahas are the 2 who should be in that F50 all the time. ;)

In reference to nahas playing in the middle..

Perhaps so, but if we're to rest players like Dusty and Cotch in the FP, then it follows that a FP needs to be able to swap positions and play bursts in the middle. That he can add a different element there is practially a requirement in the modern game.

Or would you prefer to have Dusty AND Nahas up forward, and be one short in the guts?

2 tall forwards , a swingman , a defensive forward and 2 resting midfielders.
Vickery , Reiwoldt, Post/Astbury , King and 2 of Martin , Foley, Jackson, Cotchin and Grigg .
Allows Morton to play on a wing and the other wing to be rotated through including by those on the pine !
Likewise play 2 key defenders a swingman, 2 x attacking rebounders and a shut down small !
2 of Thurstfield , Gourdis , grimes , Rance or McGaunne , Astbury as the swingman , lids and newman as the rebounding defenders , white or farmer as defensive small !
Allows for more flexibility and no need for Nahas , Connors or Edwards to go through the midfield !
Conca , Batchellor and Helbig on the pine with Derickx as the sub , should a Ruckman or key forward go down .

That word development again. Get with the program dude we are in development. Lol. Why are the maggies able to develop players in a couple of seasons and it takes us six to turn them into duds?

Our structures aren't right dimma wanted and prepared the side with three talls so we play with two......

How is that developing a game plan?

Are we really better served with nahas on the ball?

Nahas/ nason in the forward line

Hf. King miller nason
Ff vickery jack nahas

Dusty or cotch rotating with nason outside midfielder tuck in as well

I'll pay that, but Titch can do party tricks that create a goal out of nothing.

Nahas and Titch are those kinds of players that opposition supporters will spew on, because they invariably take a chest mark unopposed, 30 ms out, after a mongrel punt went off the side of the boot. Its not arse, seen it to many times from Nahas especially when he played at Port, to suggest it isnt that talent that cannot be taught, anticipation. It isnt purely a thing about anticipation, most players have it, its more about not being scared to back it and get to where you reckon its gunna be at. You dont get it right all the time, but you only have to be right 4 times and you have 4 shots on goal. Thats what nahas does and does well. ;)

i would prefer Nahas up forward and anyone else that needs to rest, rotating with Morton, if not rotating off the bench with the other mids. ;)

Actually, he has proven to be one of the worst around goals in our team. Has no left foot, and even on his right, his attempts at goal 'in play" over the past couple of years have generally been terrible.

King currently plays the role much more effectively, whilst being a stopper at the same time.

Umm, sorry if this is the wrong thread.... but any news on Troy Taylor in the last week? Why he went home specifically? Will he return? Is there a date set that he/RFC need to make decisions by?

nup no need to be sorry, and nup we have diddly squat from anywhere, so you get the thread going off on tangents of who is going to play where Troy aint.;)

Cheers Cogga. Well if we are going off on tangents then I might just say that having just looked at our fixture again, I think we only have 3 or so unwinnable (yes that is not the way the players should look at it) games for the rest of the season.

Collingwood this week, Sydney at the SCG and Geelong somewhere.... The rest I think we are a reasonable chance in with perhaps Adelaide at AAMI and 2 games versus the Bummers being the hardest. So after a probable flogging this week, I think we will be competitive for the rest of 2011. :)

Can we get our pick back ? Absolute waste of time and effort this kid ... No doubt he will come back in 2 years and play for collingwood or something

Next time we need to be more straight with these indigenous kids and say this is a full time commitment and if they can't cope they shouldn't be considered with picks being so valuable these days

How is it so hard to understand that when a kid walks into an already competitive team he's going to show more than in a team that is bottom four?

Mich Duncan, Blair, Beams, Curnow they have luxarys that our entire team don't have in that players block spread and run hard for them giving them less responsibilty and an easier run not to mention that they're in sides who are smashing teams by 50 points +.

I also think we're all aware that the Pies have many more assistant coaches and resources meaning that kids would be developed better.

Be realistic mate, Comparing the current state of Collingwood to us is unresonable.

Even they went through hard times to get where they are, And I know we've gone through a shit load ourselves but Hardwick is only resposible for what he has been here for and we have to allow him time to do it his way.

Back on topic listening to Benny Gale on SEN , the club has compromised their standards to accomodate the toe rag.........piss him off not worth the trouble.

Kept him out of jail as well just an oxygen thief.

What did he say?

He just said we know where he is, and we're still supporting him, etc. We basically have to wait and see if he decides if he wishes to persue his career.

Mentioned that we had supported him as much as possible, even with help from others outside the club. And we compromised our values a little once or twice when helping him out. Was a bit vague, I figure he was referring to either the way we backed him in fighting his court battle, or else that we've put up with a couple of other incidents... maybe he has been late for some sessions or something.

Taylor aside, everything else was the usual stuff... ME Bank Centre, Sponsors, Jack, etc...
