Love to hear review of anyone at the game how did Taylor Hunt go when moved on Mitchell. Kelly was impressed after the game with him.

Seeing Lingy in the post match review he sizes up with Hawkins and made Kelly look tiny. Still think he was underated in his ability to win balls at stoppages, stand up and somehow handball off. When you see the size of him i can see how.

Can Taylor Hunt be our tagger? Has pace to burn off when he gets the ball

Re: Ling -> Taylor Hunt?

Mitchell was killing us in the first half and I thought Hunt did a awesome job when he went to him in the second half. Hunt also did a great job on Stephen Hill last week. I think is will be a great replacement for Lingy.

Re: Ling -> Taylor Hunt?

His second half job suggests he is absolutely Lings successor. Mitchell was running rampant and threatening to take the game away from us before Hunt moved to him. From that point on his influence on the game decreased significantly, had a lot less of the ball and thunty has to take most the credit for that. Did a magnificent job, and would like to see him given more opportunities to make the role his own.

I reckon he could be better than alright, young Taylor Hunt.

Mitchell was amazing in the first half, absolutely smashed us.

Hunt went onto him in the second. Shut him down, and shut him up.:)

To see a kid with a handful of games put a blanket over one of the league's best midfielders is very, very encouraging. Not to mention highly entertaining. :thumbsu:

I love this Brad Sholl lookalike.
Who was on Mitchell 1st/2? At the game, looked like he was untagged, or unmanned.

Guthrie had the initial stint on Mitchell if I remember correctly, but Hunt was the better choice with a more seasoned body to go up against him.

@VEEDUBS Mitchell was just head to head with either Kelly or Selwood. Players like Judd, Mitchell and Swan need someone holding their hands because they are capable of carrying games on their shoulders.

Wasn't manned up was going head to head with Selwood.

Guthrie went to him late second quarter

Had the rare privilege of attending the game at the G. See so much more there.

As I saw it we rolled players thru Mitchell in the first H. No Good.

To his credit Scott and Co. changed up and gave thunt the job in 2H. two benefits: thunt quells Mitchell and the mids concentrate on what they do best.

Win win and yes thunt is the one -- he also is damaging when he gets it.

Excellent job and as stated did a good job last week. Looks a promising type - just needs to start on the most dangerous player from the beginning of the game. Mitchell really hurt us in the first half.

Yes, don't know why they didn't put him on Mitchell from the get go.

That's a second great shut down job in two weeks, after doing it through the NAB. He's disciplined and hard at it and the role suits him well.

Playing very well at the moment Poodle, definitely won't be going out when the seniors come back if he keeps this up.

Did a great job in shutting down Mitchell - but he's handy the other way. How good was his toepoke to Chappy? Like Guthrie he always looks calm under pressure.

the coach has said that he got that wrong in the first half.

Good call - he can really do some damage when he has the pill.
Looks far more assured with the footy now and is choosing the right option quickly , seems to have eliminated holding on to it for too long which used to get him in trouble.

THunt's hardness at the contest has been commendable. A couple of instances yesterday where he demonstrated really strong attack on the ball or opponent. I remember last year when he played early games one commentator (BT from memory) talked about his kicking as being elite. I don't think he has perhaps demonstrated that thus far however if he has that ability and can regularly hurt his opponent by breaking the lines and using his foot skills we will have a valuable asset.

reckon he's hardly played a poor game in the hoops, has been game-ready from the word go.

like him in the tagging role, was good running off half-back in his first few games with the club too.
