Taylor Walker Dropped...

So, rather than tweaking the game plan, we are just going to swap the cattle.

We simply don't need forwards anymore, just 14 back-flankers to run the ball to outside our fifty, and then . . .

The Bulldog's tackle count will only be eclipsed by their goals from turnovers.

Ive tried to understand Neil Craigs game plan for a while now but at the game last week we had a player in front of the ball not even 10% of the time. How can they win a game when the only person who gets a chance to kick a goal cant kick.
Next week i want to see
Out: Neil Craig
In: Taylor Walker (playing at actual FF)

What a ****ing disgrace.

I suppose you just have to laugh really. If you don't laugh you'll just cry.

Poor kid. Most naturally talented forward we've had since Modra, and he's played at full forward in the first game - where we've been thrashed and he's still kicked 4.

So then, in the midst of a goal scoring crisis - we've got our most natural forward at half-back, and then drop him because he's not playing well in defence. Wow, really.

When you add that to the fact our best target is spending half of his time in the ruck, little ****ing wonder we can't kick a goal.

What a complete joke. Neil Craig is ruining Taylor Walker. With his natural talent (and injury free), he has the potential to kick 1000+ goals in his carreer and be our greatest goalkicker for decades to come. But no, Neil Craig has to play him in every position BUT full forward, ruin his confidence, then drop him.

If I were the Gold Coast or GWS I'd be sending recruitment staff to his place this afternoon with a contract in hand ready for him to sign.

I'm very disappointed Walker's been dropped  IMO there have been worse players in our side (Tippett maybe?) and we all know how talented Taylor is. If anything he's the type of player we need right now, someone who can kick goals, so I just can't understand this. I'm baffled.

On the other hand I'm very pleased to see Ricky make his debut. Ever since I saw him last year in the reserves I knew he could play AFL. Go Ricky :thumbsu:

I just dont understand what they expect from Walker. He will learn NOTHING at SANFL level. NOTHING. He dominates there because the Norwood coach has the brains to play him out of the goal square. How can so many people see it but Craig cant? Its like he has a seperate agenda for Walker and trying to develop him in areas that arent his strength. Makes no sense and its damn frustrating.

Put him in the goal square, porps 30m out and just LEAVE walker there. Somehow i think he will relish the "Im the man who owns the 0-30m space in front of me" position that he'll find himself in. He cannot play second fiddle to anyone. This week he will kick 5+ for the redlegs.

This was my first thought, why would any player put up with the absolute rubbish dished out by NC, when you can go to the GC or GWS on big dollars. What a joke, does NC seriously expect our side to be remotely competitive tomorrow night. Burton burns the ball 9 times out of 10 and his legs are shot, he is finished as an AFL footballer.

This year is practically finished and he chooses a bunch of out of form 30 years old over our forward of the future. Piss of NC, your a clown and a complete joke as a coach, its time to get a coach who knows football and not a scientific smart arse book worm.

Didnt mind him not playing in the second half of last year.

Had an open mind about him playing up the ground this year.

But this.... just seems like we are ruining the bloke.

And there we have it, Neil Craig has finally managed to unite the entire Adelaide BigFooty board, they should send him to mediate peace talks in the middle east, I mean this guy has skill:rolleyes::eek:

Now I have been trying to give NC as much benefit of the doubt this week, but thats it, he's lost me. I mean seriously, WTF Craigy, WTF?

Much love for young TW on here, but what has he done at AFL level when playing as a forward so far? Some say his leads are not honoured. Now why would his team mates do that? For mine he doesn't contest hard enough for the football, and he must do that if he is to be an AFL footballer.
Craig's call this week is spot on, if not for the reason he gave.
Lake would eat him alive at FF.
Oh, and Burton is not 'finished' and nor are his 'legs shot'. At least the bloke competes hard for the football in the air or on the ground. I'd take Burton over three Walkers in present playing mode.

This is a complete joke, at the end of the day the sad story with our club is that unless your name is Burton, Edwards, McLeod or Goodwin you are a second class citizen.

I dont care if the Craig fans want to continue to say I know nothing, I said it last year and will say it again Neil Craig is obsessed with the idea that we can only be successful with those players in our side and will continue to squeezes whatever he can get out of them for as long as he can. It is beginning to look more and more like Craig is the type of coach that prefers the path of trying to chase competive results even if we are going nowhere rather than biting the bullet and actually rebuilding a side.

Once we get smashed Friday night, I am sure that he will then start dropping Petrenko, Cook, Davis etc and make them to be the scapegoats. At the end of the day Neil can always trade guys like Walker for new players to compliment the likes of Goody, Burton, McLeod and Edwards going into 2011 and 2012.

That is the most pathetic decision that has ever been made , how ****ing pathetic, he has been played out of position yet he is the scapegoat well **** me sideways, this club is a ****ing rabble, **** me no ****ing idea:mad::thumbsdown:

Walker has a great deal of potential (and talent), but that doesn't mean that he *can't* be dropped, or that it will ruin his career.

I would rather he was playing this week, but he hasn't been in super form, and being dropped (for some finite time) shouldn't be the end of the world for him. He is what, 19/20? Very, very young for a key forward.
