over 800% more discussion over a dropping of a player than a promotion of a player and their debut

such is the negative behaviour of this board

Probably because the dropping of Walker is 800% more contraversial than the selection of Henderson, Riggy.

I've tried to stay positive about Craig through our current disasters, but on this issue I just can't.

IMO it would be similar to playing Rutten on the wing and then dropping him because his form wasn't up to expectations.

I was certain that Craig would mix it up a bit this week with his forwards, because they have been playing poorly. As part of that IMO common sense said to put Walker as the leading FF from the goalsquare and Tippett playing at CHF where he won't be kicking points from 20 metres out.

The way that Walker has been used has almost guaranteed that he would eventually be dropped, because he's been played in a role that he is not suited to.

It's very easy to say that Walker hasn't lived up to expectations, but when you look at the way he's been handled, he probably has.

It's not an end of the world issue, but in a week that Craig's credibility has been somewhat questioned, I don't think he really needed another contraversial issue.

I genuinely feel sorry for Walker as he has been surrounded by players who have been played in their normal positions who have been very very ordinary yet are still in the side - I'm looking at you Porplyzia.

Anyhow, I'm sure Walker will be back in a few weeks or so. If he is, then let's hope that he's played in a position that he can actually perform at his best.

Finally, all the best to Henderson for his debut. I just hope that he's not expected to lead the first ruck!!

I'd rather give time on the park to whoever is performing whether they are 32 or 19. The season is not shot until mathematically we cannot make the 8.

just making the 8 won't be an acceptable result though?

the best we can possibly hope for is another season at the same level as the last 3, and that's a failure.

that's the elephant in the room here, the best we could possibly, maybe, achieve is an unacceptable year of no progress. and that is without talking about the unlikelihood of it all.

I don't know why some people want to clutch at the straws of failure as if that will be ok.

I think this is how Craig raises his middle finger to the supporters.

I agree. Neil had to be make a statement this week, and he has.

one of my defiance.

his record is not nearly even nearly good enough to survive the hindsight of an ugly forced departure. his time might be viewed very differently if he plays this wrong.

Well, I've had my entertainment for the afternoon! :thumbsu:
You guys are pathetic.

edit: ok, you're all pathetic & paranoid

"OH NOEZ! NC HATES TWALKER! HE'S OUT TO DESTORY HIM!"

cos THAT makes sense...coaches LOVE destroying players on their lists.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA
keep it coming guys! it's hilarious!

At last a voice of reason ..... haven't seen this much childishness for a long time

Absolute dummy spitting by this board

I'm not sure what his contract status is but I wouldn't begrudge walker for seeking a trade at the end of the year. I don't think hes done that much wrong and should feel hard done by. His style of football just doesn't suit NC's style of coaching.

Well I guess Walker is paying for his lack of versatility at the moment. At the moment he just doens't fit into the structure that NC wants to play. I've said it before and I've said it again. If Tippett and Walker play together it will just not work. Both are FF's, genuine FF's. Sure they have different playing styles but they just can't work together.

Brian Taylor & Michael Roach apparently couldn't work together, so Richmond lets BT go to Collingwood.

lets just say that didn't go to plan.

I:

Sorry I just can't agree with yours or any of the ......I was going to say arguments, buts lets just say hysteria

Walker came to us as a CHF not a FF ......the days of a one position player is over as it restricts a teams flexibility

I am sure that if Davis ends up the CHF that the club would want to rotate Davis, Tippett, and Walker through the KPP posts

To say he's a one position player at 20  .......he has to learn other roles, he has to get quicker as he's too slow AP , and he has to start sticking some tackles.

And I'll say again he started out as a roaming CHF .....so it's not that new to him

The older players have brownie points and we need to experience and leadership more now what with all the kids we are playing

Can't kick 10 for the eagles in an SANFL semi final and not have a great deal of potential. He did get picked up at number 14 in the draft in 2003.

Watts was a lot harder though, crashed packs and hit hard.

I just don't want to see the same thing happen to Walker as happened to Watts.

Watts was hard at the contest, no doubt. He actually pretty much ended Justin Leppitschs career.

Not true. Most of us have agreed that with our best team on the park, we can be a threat. Get them out there in time for finals and sneak in, as stale as that sounds, a better campaign than the last few cannot be ruled out. It cannot ever be ruled out. That's not to say I'm comfortable with it, quite the opposite, but the old "anything can happen" line is always valid. Always. Unfortunately.

rolling out schrodingers cat for our premiership chances is a bit tedious.

Am I the only one feeling conflicted as a supporter about tomorrow night's game? Post an upset win and the hierarchy will consider itself vindicated. Do we want that?

Hope you win lads but gee...it won't be quite so satisfying as it could've been.
