Should we make a move for Taylor Walker next year?

Seems to be on the outer at the Crows and has been dropped this week. Surely there were 6 to 8 players who had poorer games than him.
IMO is played out of position for a lot of the time and also is benched quite often. I know it has been stated that he loves the Crows and would only play for the Crows blah, blah blah..., but his confidence must be shot and maybe he might be looking for a change of clubs come the end of the season. Maybe a swap for Jacobs or Grigg (both SA boys) and/or draft picks.

He is a developmental player, just like any other young kid. He is not going anywhere.

Chris Johnson must be kicking himself. He could have been playing seniors at Melbourne everyweek instead of playing for the bullants where he deserves to be until he works on his defensive game.

I dunno .. having seen Melbourne over the past 3 weeks - I don't think he'd be playing seniors there anyway.
 
I don't think it's likely. He isn't on the outer just because he got dropped, he is young and developing.

He has been played out of position against us which is odd considering their lack of a forward target. Strange things happening at Adelaide at the moment.
 
Posted similar thoughts on the Crows board last week. Didn't get any bites though :(:D

Since the question of how to use Taylor Walker is clearly too hard for Neil Craig to work out, I think the best solution is for Walker to come to Carlton.

As a lover of football, I can't sit by and watch a natural forward wasting away on a wing or flank.

So come on down to Princes Park, Taylor. You'll never have to leave the 50, you'll get the ball lace-out from Gibbs, Houlihan, Judd, Murphy, Lucas, Simpson, etc. And if you don't feel like marking it, that's quite OK because Yarran, Betts and Garlett will all be there for the crumbs.

If the Crows hierarchy had any decency they'd facilitate a trade to the Blues at all costs to ensure Walker gets a fair crack at a career as a forward, and a shot at some success.

Should we trade Gibbs for Dangerfield and Walker?

Naturally it would be a great trade for the Blues as the Crows get screwed in it.

lol crows are playing pathetc....and you want walker? Just because we are going through a bad patch does not mean we dont want walker. The crows are not going to trade away walker. We are going through a form slump and walker is a development player.

Don't get to worked up over it. There are heaps of players mentioned on this board as possible targets for CFC, but most don't eventuate. It also means the player is rated. Better than not being wanted.:thumbsu:

Now before mediumsizered etc go haywire this is not a troll...

In my opinion, Taylor Walker is one of the best FF/CHF prospects I have seen. Has Great hands, can kick a goal and also lead up the field. I fully expect this guy to be the closest thing to the next Riewoldt type player of all the FF/CHF coming up.

Dangerfield looks like the steal of the 07 draft. Can play anywhere on the ground. Play midfield and set up the play aswell as going forward taking marks and kicking goals (kicked 5 a few weeks back didnt he?).

Bryce Gibbs may be a very good player, but no way in hell would Neil Craig and the Adelaide board get rid of their future captain and potentially future CHF for a gun midfielder (which Gibbs is, take no notice of avatar).

It would take ABSOLUTE MINIMUM....

Your first round draft pick aswell as possibly more (3rd round aswell).

I dont think Gibbs > Walker would get the deal done from an Adelaide perspective even if you think that is a rediculous statement on my behalf. Both teams would see that trade as a loss for their respective sides.

Cant help but laugh a bit at this.
