I reckon this has been pretty awful for Teague. I was going to say a pretty awful process, except that there wasn't one.

The board at Carlton should hag their heads really. No way to treat anyone.
Problem is, even the board doesn’t know what’s going on. There’s no one in authority to deliver news to Teague.

Teague must know unofficially, but the club isn’t in a position of stability to deliver the news officially.

What a shitshow

Agreed, it will also make it hard to attract any decent coaches on the future if they get RTB and if that goes teets up

We’re more relevant last than some teams breaking 100 year old premiership droughts.

lol ok. You still living in the last century?

The football fraternity dgaf about Carlton because being a basket case is normal or isn’t anything new or stimulating. It’s a a drab, boring brand that’s beyond laughable.

Chicken little revisionists all over the thread.

New president, revamped board, they've hit the ground running.

Teague tried his best, and you can argue the club didn't support him enough. But he just couldn't adapt his game plan to improve results. No-one likes losing, but it was the manner of the losses was the issue.

Agree, to the average 20yo Carlton has been a cellar dweller for their entire life time, who bang on about the number of premierships they've won when the league had less than half the number of teams they do now.

It’s funny, the Carlton supporters I know don’t bang on about the premierships, but the Essendon supporters I know definitely do.

Had to chuckle when I turned on SEN this afternoon....

Andy Maher comment - 'This could be Ground Zero for Carlton, and the start of the next great era for the football club....'

I wonder how many times in the past two decades Carlton supporters have hoped/believed that?!?

Once.
And it was a failure.

A rigorous review of the club squarely laid the blame at the feet of the coach.

The board members who ticked off the appointment of Teague and Bolton and the sacking of Ratten were found to be extraordinary performers who deserve a statue outside Princes Park.

Watching Carlton lose comes a close second to the joy of watching Essendon win and I hate that ****ing club.

But I genuinely feel sorry for their supporters.

I agree with all of the above, except your last sentence...

It's not reciprocated.

Tbf a disastrous event followed by 20 years stumbling around in the wilderness in pursuit of a lost cause sounds a lot like Carlton to me.

There are a few Carlton people on here who recognize that footy is at its best when Essendon and Carlton are fighting for premierships and not for wood carvings.

I appreciate those fans
That is true, even though i really, really dont like blues, bombers, tiges - i do wish one day they are up and about at the same time with the pies - love the rivalry. Ultimately, its not great seeing blues down for so long (that hurt a little typing that)
