"I love the way Collingwood plays. There isn't too many stars, but they get the job done. That's what is happening with us this year."

I was reading this on the train this morning, good article with Lloyd. Thing that stood out for me was the above quote and I think it highlights what we are trying to achieve. We are well on our way to playing finals this year and we most likely wont have anybody in the 40 man AA squad let alone an AA, which IMO is fantastic!!

I don't think it's that fantastic, the improvement this year from Collingwood is that their stars have done so well.
Didak/Swan/Davis would all be making the top 40 list.

Personally I think Watson/Pears would be a chance at making the 40.

There are pills that help with delusional episodes you know...seriously while good for a first year player he has at least 20 defenders ahead of him. Why don't I just nominate Eagleton for a spot on the wing, as that is only half as crazy as what you are suggesting.

Watson will make squad, Lovett is a chance and Winderlich probably deserves to but won't. That is all.

Personally I think he has been the man that has at time held our defence together. I don't see him making the 22 but I consider him a smokey to make the 40.

Winderlich has had a major impact in a handful of games this year but I don't think he has had the consistancy to make the list. Lovett is closer but I think he will miss out.

Winders is just as much a chance as Lovett. I say this from watching the matches, but the stats back it up:

1 less game but about the same in possessions, goals, and assists, is the most effective user of the ball in the club behind Fletch, and has more tackles.

If Cox and Sandi miss more games then Ryder might be an outside chance for a place.

he has been excellent but I still think he is behind a couple of players for the midfield/half forward role, Winders would be the same.

The only player who I think is close to the 40 man squad would be Jobe.

Second year.

Yes, I agree that it would be a stretch to put him in contention, although I think he would rate considerably higher than you have suggested.

Watson is a certainty to make the squad of 40, and some chance of making the final 22.

Jobe is obviously still struggling at times with the ankle. Ankle injuries are such teases; they always seem sufficiently healed and play up in the 2nd half of games. So given that predicament, I believe his form may drop off a bit (touch wood)
