Not sure if I should post this here but didn't really want to create a new thread on the subject.
Is anyone else nervous about which Eagles team mindset will rock up for the game? The one that has a fair dinkum dip against sides ranked higher/better than them or the one that falls to the absolute sh!tty class of the teams lower/worse than them?
Except for the Saints game we've had a real go at teams who you would think could've sunk the boot in and came away with at least a decent effort. The games where we've been considered better than even (or even money) at pinching we have played absolute shit football (I include the Collingwood game because at the time they were in hole and had so many major outs we were considered a decent chance to topple them, we ended up playing some f***ing ugly football that night).
I'm just a little bit nervous about this one because we should be too strong for North at home.
I think you're onto something here and I wouldn't be at all suprised if we lost today.
If we could lose to Richmond, Melbourne and Failmantle (twice-ugh) then we're capable of losing to anyone.
Some of the youngsters have been up for the last 2 weeks and being young, they're probably due a quiet one.
The other aspect is that for one of the few times this season we enter a game as clear favourites and I suspect that most of the crowd who show up will be expecting a win rather than hoping for one. In other words, if North get away to a decent start expect the atmosphere of a public library. That won't help.
