Be interesting to see if Tambo plays for Coburg - word is he's aggravated his shoulder.

Won't be surprised to see McGuane and Reiwoldt alternating between defense as a 3rd/4th medium tall, attack and the bench now they've both been picked.

You'd have to think that Hartigan is now in the delisted group with Moore - no 2nd chances for either loom in the remaining games. Moore was really competing against McGuane as a 'maybe' 3rd tall defender - McGuane's been given another contract.

Hartigan was up against King - he seems to have lost his chance too.

I agree that a tagging apprenticeship would do him good Tony. It's certainly easier to run outside your endurance levels (and ultimately, improve them) if you're following someone, rather than getting there first every time only to get physically belted, plus having to think about positioning constantly.

I like seeing our developing youngsters who are actually capable of being damaging - like Meyer and Jackson - doing tagging roles in the sort of apprenticeship Kirk had.

If someone has the skills it's half the battle won...then you just need to hone their fitness, strength, competitiveness and football smarts. Tagging is the ideal apprenticeship to gain those assets.
jackson has been tagging???

LOL...yeah, and he's been soundly beaten in a couple, but still done some very good things, and beaten his man in a couple.

He's not doing better purely and simply because he's still a couple of years away from full AFL fitness (about where Foley was last year).

Which really doesn't say much does it? I can't name one midfielder on our list that genuinely runs out a full game at top level. Which is precisely why we fade every single game this year - not only do we have to use juniors who have no hope of running out games, on top of that, none of our seniors can run out games at a solid workrate on good opponents either.

We're not talking about running the tan...we're talking about running 16-20km and sprinting several of those. None of our mids can do it...yet.

This weekend get him to follow maybe Salopek.

Steve Salopek is out for about another month with a busted ankle.

Thought you may like to see Port's line-up

B: Jacob Surjan, Alipate Carlile, Michael Wilson
HB: Peter Burgoyne, Toby Thurstans, Domenic Cassisi
C: Nathan Lonie, Shaun Burgoyne, Kane Cornes
HF: David Rodan, Warren Tredrea, Brett Ebert
F: Brendon Lade, Justin Westhoff, Daniel Motlop
Foll: Dean Brogan, Chad Cornes, Danyle Pearce
Interchange: Travis Boak, Robert Gray, Michael Pettigrew, Adam Thomson

Emergencies: Greg Bentley, Troy Chaplin, Nathan Krakouer

Need a tag for Mr. Cassisi. Midfield will probably struggle a fair bit against the Power. They have a very nicely balanced list.

Keep and eye out for Thomson for those who dont watch the Power much. I like the kid.
