It irks me when I see my subcontinental friends with white names, or ask people to call them by a white name. They should respect their heritage. I have kept name Indian name, and am proud of it.

For example:
I have an Indian friend called Jess.
I met this Sri Lankan girl at uni last week called Cassandra.
And, I have a distant cousin by the name of Raul. Yes, that's Raul, and not Rahul.

Jesminder is female Indian first name. In Hindi meaning flower queen. In Punjabi language meaning Glory of God. Another variant name is Jasminder.

Could be short maybe?

My brother played against a 'Dyron' in footy on the weekend, that's godawful.

Also saw the name 'Kebra' pop up somewhere, can't remember where though

So bad.

I was on Instagram and noticed that Clancee Pearce's daughter's name is Memphis-Rose
Misspelling 'Clancy' is bad enough.

I've never really understood hyphenated given names. Of the few I've known or met with one, they almost uniformly went by the first part of their joined name, as though the bit after the hyphen was a middle name.
