And to be honest it's disappointing because they've actually been fairly decent to us this year.

FIVE GOALS from frees. Don't get me wrong, they were kind of there, but pay them BOTH ways.

That was the biggest problem. They paid frees that were there....for North. Not for us.

Agree entirely with above parts.

Listening to a few North games here and there, they do seem to get a lot of their goals from frees...not sure if the stats show that, but is a distinct impression.

It's human nature to back the underdog and umps are human. Plus everyone wants a good contest, hence perhaps there's a subtle thing there also, to 'even' things up a bit. Disappointing nonetheless.

Umps much better this year to us, overall, then last few IMHO.

I find it interesting to know others' thoughts re the umps, win or lose.

Maybe moreso after wins actually, take the 'sour grapes' factor out.

I agree... one of the worst decisions I have ever seen

Before the camera moved scenes straight after the free was given you could see the ball on the ground(where Shaw should have left it) and the Saint player backs back more or less knowing Shaw was going to pick the ball up for him.

Shaw did nothing incorrect as he has the right to return to his mark if retrieveing the ball.

I say leave the ball on the ground in all instances now.

The Shaw free was truly bewildering.
Umpires are special though.
