I dont care how many more free kicks that Essendon got (and they were close to double), that effort today was disgraceful.

With so much to play for we came out and let Essendon treat us like a bunch of kids.

Some good efforts from a few, but mostly very ordinary.

What now?

Medhurst is a player though!
John Anthony is awesome a great prospect for you guys, love his confidence and the way he plays.

good question ceedubb,i personally think we should look to the future, and try to trade for warnock from freo.unfortunately ben johnson lets the team down with poor foot skills ,and some other players seem to decide when they will have a fair dinkum go.i hope we look for a younger coach for next season, which is not a kneejerk reaction to todays dismall effort, but more a realisation that MM is too set in his ways to react properly on gameday.

Here is the solution:

-Delist Ben Johnson, or trade him for an upgraded pick if possible. Harsh, but we can't afford to have plodders in our side anymore. I would say the same for Obree if it weren't for his great work at the stoppages.

-Trade hard for a gun midfielder - Daniel Kerr, come to Collingwood. We should be ruthless with the trading, but not wreckless.

-Sign up Ben Cousins.

We will win the flag next year if the above three things happen.

I have emailed the CFC, as a member and supplied my membership number as l want a refund after that crap. Hope they read my email, and reply to one of their paid up members and apologise for that insipid crap.

The game is quckly getting past Johnson, so the takers will be minimal. Would probably scrap a second round draft pick.

Kerr l would persue with all gusto, we need his pace and clearance ability.

Cousins, would be too big a risk, but if he was focused and keen to prove to everyone in footy that he is still one of the best mids the game has ever had, then l would take him in a second. I rate this guy as good as Judd, if not better.

And Brogan is another one l would also look at trying to entice to the club.

lmao :D:thumbsu: good joke.
In a draft that will be the last for many teams to top up in, including my own club, picks will be more valueable in this one than ever.
I personally wouldnt want a guy at my club who cant run, kicks nothing but helicopters, cant jump and loses 90% of one on one contests.
You would be lucky to get any draft pick for johnson. Just delist him if you cant trade him for a player.

John Anothony looks like a great player though, beutiful set shot at goal.
Harry O was fantastic today. Easily your best.

Is Presti ever going to come back or is he retired? Wakelin needs to be dropped, goes to ground way to much.

I know we're capable of some pretty poor football, but that match just tops the lot. How the heck we could allow the Dons to get 30 odd points up within about 10 minutes I just don't know. Rubbish.

I wouldn't be so pissed off if we were consistently bad, at least then I wouldn't have my expectations dashed every time we pull off a performance like today's. Such a frustrating side to support.

what a #$%^ing joke we were today... we will be lucky to make the 8.... whata %$#@ing disgrace... a game we HAD to win to secure a spot in the 8 and leave the door open for a possible top 4 chance...

THE SELECTION COMMITTEE, MICK MALTHOUSE & CO NEED TO MAKE A MASSIVE STATEMENT THIS WEEK.. I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY MORE RUBBISH FROM THIS FOOTBALL CLUB>> as adzrani(sorry about the spelling) pointed out this week we have as a supporter base and football club have accepted mediocre performances for far too long.. our midfield is rubbish , our game plan is getting destroyed by clubs that are percieved as "inferior" to us.. as mentioned by other posters.. we are only good when we are the hunters and not the hunted....

I would think the selection committee selecting one key forward every week is rather crap.

Very, very hard to disagree with the original posts.
We were soundly beaten all over the ground....back to square one.

Johnson, R.Shaw, Swan, O'Bree

Generally most sides only have 1, sometimes 2, accumulators who have poor disposal, we have an abundance of them. Surely Stanley, Isles and Cook are the better options for the future, at least they have age on their side.

And then our brilliant small/mid size defender stocks obviously helps. We've got Goldsack and Maxwell who can't play on smalls or bigs (at least Goldy is young).
Our general delivery into our forward half is a joke, the amount of poor kicks in Clokes direction is embarassing.
MM is insanely stubborn.

I like to think i'm not one of those idiots who makes kneejerk reactions after each loss, but the things i've just mentioned have been evident in every loss for the season, and we're never going to be a genuine flag contender until they are addressed. We have a good forward line and a promising young defence, but our midfield needs an overhaul. We're a top 8 side, and have plenty to look forward to in the future, we have plenty of young guns, but we still have a few areas that need major attention. We're capable of so much improvement, let's hope the club does it.

yeah.. i agree its not fair on medhurst... oh did i say medhurst.. i mean cloke? cloke is 20% worse without rocca in the side..
