Tell me, would you consider Travis Cloke a force in any forward line?
Ofcourse you would. Yet despite the fact that Roughead kicked more goals than Cloke in 07, he's still 'hardly impressive'.
Oh that's right, Cloke supposedly does more 'around the ground'.
Remind me again what is the primary objective of any forward?
I probably would, yes, along with the majority of posters on this forum. I don't think that majority would consider Roughead a force though.
You're fighting a losing battle if you think anyone wouldn't have Cloke in their forward line before Roughy, or if you are attempting to compare them.
Roughead plays FF, he should average more goals then Cloke, that is hardly any surprise. Roughead averages .2 more goals a game then Cloke, not really ground breaking is it?
Where as Cloke averages an extra 6 disposals and an extra 4 marks a game.
That is an extremely narrow description of a forwards job, and I certainly wouldn't say Travis Clokes job as a CHF for us is solely focused on kicking goals. It isn't as if they extra possessions he accumulates count for nothing, usually those 6 extra disposals result in 6 extra I50's for us.
Roughys 1.8 goals, 9.2 disposals and 3.5 marks a game is as I said, 'hardly impressive'.
Clokes 1.6 goals, 14.5 disposals and 7.5 marks a match I would consider to be a lot more influential.
That isn't taking into accounts stats like entries into the 50 etc, which I'm sure would continue to put Cloke in a brighter light, so it is probably better for you if I don't.
