1. Marc Murphy on a phenomenal season, declaring himself as one of the game's elite.

2. Jeremy Laidler and Nick Duigan on coming in and stabilising our defence.

3. Andrew Walker for going up forward and kicking 50+ goals for the season.

4. Brett Ratten for taking the advice on board and creating a real rapport with the players.

5. Chris Yarran on moving to defense and providing us with some dash.

8. Jeffery Garlett and Eddie Betts for providing some real danger and flair up forward with exceptional consistency. Even when you weren't hitting the target, you had the opposition worried. Even better was your defensive pressure

All in all it's been a brilliant year for Carlton and it's supporters. Every player on our list had a crack and many of them had career best years.

We should all be proud of what we acheived, and we should be SUPER excited about the next 4-5 years.

9. Brett Thornton - turning his form and attitude around. .. two incidents on the Subiaco oval that highlight this (one against Freo and the other last night). ..

10. Mitch Robinson - All heart and gusto but his move from a fringe player to an important part of our best 22 was great. ..

11. Gibbs - Mr Fix It to danger player in any position, expecting big things from him in 2012

As for the some already mentioned:

Murphy - A grade to Elite, hope he gets the Brownlow and BF that he deserves and a Norm Smith in a years time
Scotto - Always consistent and composed but he was training up to be a reserves coach earlier in the year planning for retirement and just stepped up so well he is in line for AA and got another year
Ratten - So composed in front of the media now (except maybe after last nights loss); the players coach; Helped turn the fortunes of several players around; and gained improvement from almost everybody on the list. ..

12: Robbie Warnock for (temporarily) defying critics and stepping it up: especially in finals

13: Kade Simpson for another outstanding season

14: knocking off just about every voodoo (besides beating Hawthorn)

I've never been more excited about a season than I am right now about 2012.

We've made so many great strides this season and there is still so much more improvement in both our structure and our players.

- Henderson
- Yarran
- Walker
- Murphy
- Thornton
- Robinson
- Jamison
- Tuohy

Have all improved via natural progression and/or positonal changes.

- Laidler
- Duigan

Pick ups from last season that have turned our defence into an absolute fortress. Laidler/Henderson/Duigan/Jamison will hold us kn good stead for next season is dependable enough to allow us to pump games into Watson and McCarthy.

The forward line has stepped up so well this season and can only improve with Waite hopefully having a full season and Casboult/Mitchell making their mark on the team.

Scotland having a career best year and Juddy on the way to a third Brownlow.

I know I've missed players, but you guys can pick up the slack, typing on the ipad is annoying.

Seriously, super psyched for 2012.

Edit: And Ratts! Turning into a super coach and I'd give him 3 years right now.

I trust this helps answer your enquiry.

Ha! Fell right into my trap. Drop a seemingly insignificant query into an inappropriate thread and voilà! You've been exposed for what you are - a state/regional level confectionery distributor! Shame.

I thought Joseph was done a couple of months ago...played some really good footy since.

My man can play. Congrats to him for getting 2 more years at the Blues!

Brilliant. Completely random, completely ridiculous, but extremely funny. :thumbsu:

No love for Armfield? Was on the fringe, forced his way into the team and kept his spot despite fierce competition. And his disposal/decision-making has improved to boot!

Ratten and his assistants deserve massive kudos.

I stated about a year ago that for the last two years Ratten made skill execution a real area of focus and it was time to work on the defensive area of our game.

We're ready to pounce in 2012. Need to sort our forward targets and we're premiership contenders :thumbsu:

So spot on I am considering having it tattooed across my buttocks. :thumbsu:

A full pre-season into Kreuzer, Jamo and Waite will hopefully improve our team to a top 4 level. Add to that the natural improvement of players like Yarran, Garlett, Touhy, Henderson, Gibbs and Laidler. Last night was heart breaking and I haven't stopped thinking about what if's, but 2012 and beyond looks rosey. Hopefully knowing how close we came to a Prelim Final is a huge burden to the guys over summer and we can come out a genuine contender in 2012
