Celtic have re-opened talks with Gary Hooper over a new contract.

He was a prolific scorer at Scampaignerhorpe under Nigel Adkins and we had a big crack at him during January so we'll be linked again.

It would be a shame if we do lose him but we'll nmake a tidy profit. We got him for just over 2 million. This is a player that outscored Andy Carroll in the Championship too.

He spoke on talksport, was very non commital about staying at Spurs.

Said that he just wanted to play so unless the manager could convince him that he'll be getting game time I'd say he'll be off.

I can't see him staying as he doesn't fit into Redknapp's style. I'm surprised a bigger club than Reading isn't having a crack at him though

Back on Hazard briefly, I'm not sold on his "longevity" i.e. how long he will stick around. Would he be using an english club to boost his worth to go to say a Real or Barca and earn bigger bucks?
Who knows, unless for some reason he just likes England and its weather. :)

Dont knock the weather, been a cracking few days here.

Just have to get him over quick and pretend it's just normal.

Think you might be right on the stepping stone thing, but I think City at least are in a pretty good position to hang on to it's best players (or at least make a profit on them if they are desperate).

In recent days Aguero, Yaya, Balotelli, Silva and Zabaleta have made it known that while clubs are interested they are happy where they are.

It's an interesting one.

His relationship with Adkins would make us a candidate if he did want to leave but at the same time we're not a big name club. Would you leave Celtic to join a club that has a decent possibility of being in a relegation scrap?

It's interesting to note that Scott McDonald went from being a prolific scorer in the SPL to being anything but in the Championship.

Ronaldo comes to mind, but he was always honest about his intentions.
Media have painted a picture about Hazard, whether it's accurate or not remains to be seen.

Yep, if money is the key, the blue noses hold all the aces. They can pay, and pay well.

We'll just have to keep recycling the fledglings. Word is Lee Sharpe is running laps of Gigg Lane to get fit enough. ;)

Nicky Butt isnt doing anything at the moment. ;)

Dont think money is the only thing we have up our sleeve any more either.

I remember Villa fans hating on Barry for coming to City but would have been ok if he went to liverpool. Likewise nasri gets slagged for leaving arsenal for city, but for football reasons alone we have to be considered a better option IMO.

His hardness in midfield wouldn't go astray.

No, granted you won the league. Impressing in Europe next season definitely helps too.

Villa? Scousers? Neither have fired a shot for some time domestically.

Weren't City going to try and sell him anyway?

Who? Balo?

I think that got sorted out but it wouldnt totally shock me if he got offloaded.

Even Barca would have issues with that. No club is immune these days unfortunately.

I mean we lost Massimo Taibi at one point.... ;)

Twas a dark day in football indeed ;)

We're after Aquilani apparently, fee around £6m.

Although I wonder if the new manager at Liverpool would give him another chance (he hasnt really had much of one) and/or he is interested in playing in England.

Lille star Eden Hazard has said he will make a decision over his next move based on his prospective playing time and on-field position.

Hazard, 21, is currently considering offers from Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea and his agent has said he plans to announce his next move before Belgium's friendly game with England at Wembley on June 2.

Reports in France had claimed that he had agreed a five-year contract with United, but he maintains that he is still weighing up his options.

"I do not know when I'll make a decision about my future club," he said in HLN. "It will be Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea. My decision will depend on my position and how much playing time I will get.

"Not everyone can say that they have a choice between three top clubs."

Really he means, whoever pays me the post is who I will play for.

Exactly. If it was really about playing time and position it would be Chelsea. At City he would start over Nasri but would have competition for his spot based on form. United have heaps of wingers already so he'd have to maintain form to keep starting. At Chelsea he would have no competition and be a walk up start every week.

He should just be honest and say that it's about Money and titles.

Hazard ideally wants to be a big fish in a small pond while chasing the title. That has Chelsea written all over it.

Cant take that crown at United from Rooney

Has alot more competition at City with Silva, Yaya, Kompany and co having the limelight

With Drogba gone, Chelsea need a new hero. Hazard will try and be that

As pathetic as it sounds thats what he will base his decision on. Egomaniacs do that
