Honestly think Wenger's a bit cleverer than that, my guess is that Arsenal are well aware that RvP's leaving and acted preemptively to land a world class striker. I'd be surprised if he did play on the left, there seem to better and cheaper options for a quality winger. Still, I'd love to see him stay in the Premier League, you can't deny he's a quality player and great to watch.
